Lalandia/Billund stay in April, any tips/advice?

Booked to stay for 4 nights in Lalandia . Me DH and DC 15 and 18. Massive Lego fans so Lego house and Lego land is for sure . Is it easy to get from airport and to these places (no car) On 3rd day what is good? I'm guessing lots to do on site? Are the restaurants ok? (Not expecting gormet!) or is it better to go into Billund? And do you get discounts at the Lego attractions?

No idea but interested in what you plan on wearing in April. Is it cold?

1). For Lego fans, particularly AFOL, two days in Lego House is the minimum requirement 😀

2). All of the Lego stuff is within walking distance of Lalandia and the airport - like 10-15 minutes.

3). April can be cold, or can also be Springtime and warm. Since all the Lego House stuff is indoors, you'll not freeze.

4). Food in Lalandia is OK. If not, try the Lego Hotel. There are few restaurants in Billund (it's a very, very small town).

We've been a few times - the food court in Lalandia is not great at all but the supermarket is fine so we tend to dine in.

The waterpark is good fun so you could have a day in there but definitely 2 days at the Lego House.

Cabs are only a few quid as the airport is very close but you can walk easily to Legoland and the Lego House.

If you've not put a request in already you need to ask for a lodge near to the waterpark as Lalandia is a big site.

My daughter is a stroppy teenager now, but it certainly used to be the case that Legoland threw open its gates to everybody for the last hour each day (you could easily squeeze in a couple of rides). Try asking one of the staff at Lalandia. They were quite strict about enforcing height restrictions, I seem to remember.

Lalandia is virtually at the end of the runway of Billund airport (so a taxi shouldn't be too pricey). The Legoland entrance is a 5 minute walk from the Lalandia complex (but your accommodation might be a lot further away).

There is an ABC supermarket almost next door to the Lego House (which is probably a lot cheaper than the one in Lalandia).

Just to warn you that the swimming pool is very strict about showering (they used to have an attendant in the shower area to make sure you showered properly)!

That's brilliant thanks, hadn't thought about position of lodge

We didn’t worry about position of lodge we just walked it. There is a little train that runs by but is only small and gets full quickly.

my favourite bit about Lego house was the restaurant was really well done.

my 4 year old is desperate to go back again this year.

Anyone else got tips for this trip? Getting excited now. Wondering about when we land is 21.15 so I guess will need to get taxi straight to lodge, is that possible?
And will have no food etc in lodge , is it best just to head out early for breakfast day 1?

@Quitelikeacatslife just to warn you I wouldn't expect anywhere to be open for food for the lodge after your flight even their takeaways close at 9pm in that area of Denmark. 🙈 but I haven't stayed at lalandia so they possibly have somewhere on site?
Billund airport is tiny but should be fine to get a taxi.
Legoland is fab, we are going with our 5 and 1 year old at the beginning of April too (their grandparents live about 30 mins drive from billund)

Madcats · 18/03/2023 08:56

I think you'll need to eat in the UK. All the restaurants are closed by 9pm. You should probably telephone or email the Service Centre (which might also be closed) to find out how to get your bedding.

This gives you the opening times of everything:

It's a bit grim, but maybe pack some pot noodles or some things that you don't need to refrigerate to tide you over any excited hunger pangs.

Im not worried about that night as we can eat in the airport we fly at 6 ish so will just get there early and have a meal there . I think we will head out super early for breakfast. I assume the center opens early? Trying to go with the flow but I do like to plan! Booked Lego house and lunch there for 1st day

Hi we are here now and is great. Lodge really high standard and got one not too far from Centre . Lego house awesome today, shattered as there from opening to closing . Mini chef restaurant so good, slightly odd menu but really good quality and super fun. Must book as full on the day . Rainy day so got bits from supermarket in Lalandia and stayed in. Prob have slightly slower day tomorrow round water park. Could do with somewhere nice to eat in evening?

I had a lovely couple of stays at Lalandia with a small child. Whitsun/Late August used to work well price wise for us.

Did the later flight work okay for you?

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 12/04/2023 21:47

There's a robot in the cafe on the plaza in Lalandia. I quite like Bones up by the skating rink (I like a good steak). You can also order takeaway and the family boxes are good. Good salad bar too.

The castle hotel has a buffet. Quite pricey but includes drinks. Danes love a buffet and the ones at the Lego hotels are goooood. Kids can run off to the playroom. I'll try and attach a photo of the wine table.

In Billund is the Gastro pub (the cook is Scottish), and atami sushi is good. My boss drives from Esbjerg to Billund it's that good. I don't think there are any food trucks in Billund during the week.

I was there 5 days ago, now on the island of Romo. We stayed in the Knights castle hotel, we went to Legoland in the day and in the evening I would walk to lalandia as it's just over the road. They have a few restaurants. My DC liked playing games in the amusement area. It also has soft play and a skating rink.

Quitelikeacatslife · 13/04/2023 15:39

Thank you , have booked Bellinis Italian in town as DD didn't fancy any of the Lalandia ones (18 and picky 🙄) they do love a buffet! I don't mind, chilling in lodge after water park . Is shaping up to be a nice holiday.
