Disneyland Paris Pregnant

I was wondering if anyone had been to DLP recently whilst pregnant? I know you can get a pregnancy wristband when you get there but I don't know what to take as proof of my pregnancy. Thanks.

I don’t really understand, is it something you’d have to skip queues etc?

curlymam · 30/01/2023 15:12

Yes you get priority access to shows and certain rides, but I'm just not sure what they'll accept as proof.

OP posts:
Twizbe · 30/01/2023 15:20

Usually these things don't require proof as they just take it on trust.

If you just wanted it for queue jumping it would be a waste as it would also mean you couldn't go on lots of rides.

Depending on how far along you are, you could take a copy of your MATB1 form.

Krakenes · 30/01/2023 15:26

Are you going alone with a child? If you’re goi no with a partner it would be a bit pointless as they wouldn’t be able to skip the queue, so you’d either have to wait with them in the regular line or go alone with your child. If it’s due to frequent urination then I’m sure people won’t be upset if you nip out of the queue and then rejoin after you’ve gone to the toilet, or if it’s due to mobility you could sit somewhere and rejoin your family when they are closer in the queue?

LittleLegoWoman · 30/01/2023 15:26

French site says ´certificat medical’ less than 3 months old, in English or in French. It’s just a drs/midwife’s note. I’d imagine they’ll accept any kind of medical document that says you’re pregnant and has your name on it.
It gives you priority access to certain things but it probably also excludes you from some rollercoasters etc so I can’t imagine they have major issues with fraudulent pregnancy claims so they are probably not too super strict about what kind of document you show.

Wotuser · 30/01/2023 15:39

Hi OP,
I was pregnant at DLP in the Summer and got a wristband. They wouldn’t accept my early scan photo but accepted an email I had on my phone arranging my booking in appointment. They checked the name against my passport.
They allowed a few people to queue jump with me, can’t remember the maximum but the four other people in my party were allowed.
Obviously it can’t be used for rides that exclude pregnant women, but I imagine you wouldn’t want to go on most of them anyway.

curlymam · 30/01/2023 15:52

Thanks everyone. I mainly want to use it for the access to characters and parades, as a PP said I'm not really going to want to go on any rides anyway. Trip was booked before I unexpectedly fell pregnant.

TheProblemIsMe · 30/01/2023 16:30

MATB1 or scan photos with date

gogohmm · 30/01/2023 16:35

The parades you just stand on the street anyway, no pass needed. For the characters can't your partner queue?

MickeyMouseShithouse · 30/01/2023 16:36

I went when pregnant - didn’t get a wristband, but it wouldn’t have really mattered tbh.

it was shit and boring 😂 we’re going back for our honeymoon this year!

Jijithecat · 31/01/2023 22:27

I had an early scan so had my hospital letter for that. It meant we were able to skip the queues for rides that I was able to go on - only a handful of them.
Nothing to skip for the parade as you're just standing in the street. We did look at the queue for the princess meet, but that was over an hour even with the priority pass so we didn't bother.
We've been to DLP since I was pregnant and it was much better even if it did mean having to queue.

MrsTiffin · 01/02/2023 21:46

@curlymam I've just come back from Disneyland Paris and I'm 22 weeks pregnant. Took my notes and Mat B1 form but wasn't asked for any proof - my wristband was given to me at hotel reception. If you aren't staying in a disney hotel you can get one from city Hall.

Made a big difference for us with two toddlers, very short wait times showing the bracelet you're pretty much straight on to the rides, and you can access the reserved spots for the parades and also get priority access for the character meets.

I think when it's busier you don't get to go straight onto the rides, but get given a ticket to return at a certain time.

Emmagr1 · 01/02/2023 21:50

I went at 35 weeks pregnant about 4 years ago now and I went to the City Hall with my MAT B1 form. It's a life saver for priority on rides. Just be aware the rides are very limited for pregnancy women as you would expect.

RedDargon · 20/09/2023 10:34

@Krakenes I know this is an old thread but it came up when I was researching an upcoming trip. Just wanted to point out that if you have the pregnancy pass you can be accompanied by 2-4 people to skip the lines so a partner absolutely could come with and it’s not pointless to have.

NikitaST · 31/03/2024 12:34

Old thread I know but there’s a question I can’t seem to find an answer for anywhere related to the Maternity Pass/wristband.

With the wristband, do they refuse you access to the rides that say “aren’t advised”? I ask as “advised” is obviously different to “not allowed” and I would presume this is because of any lap bars and sudden stops. But I’d also presume this is more aimed at those later on in their pregnancies where bump would be clearly visible and could get harmed by lap bars etc but would appreciate some insight from
someone with experience.

Im not talking about being irresponsible here, just trying to apply some common sense where if you’re in your early stages rides like Peter Pan (having been on it before) would be ok unless you’ve got a big bump? I’d like to enjoy this ride with my children and I’m still in my first trimester. I’d obviously avoid anything that is a definite no.

Thanks

curlymam · 31/03/2024 20:28

No I was allowed on the "not advised" rides with my wristband :) As you say it's just using common sense, I wasn't really showing so didn't have a bump against the bars or anything.

This is it, I’d definitely not put myself or baby in any danger and I’m not showing yet either. Baby is still very small but also very well padded as I’m a chubby lass anyway 😉 I just wanted to weigh up the pros and cons of having a wristband and whether having one would prevent me from going on the rides I’d like to go on that would make sense to avoid when much further on. I’d fully expect them to turn someone away who was 5-6mths for example if a lap bar was needed and could cause concern. I’m no where near that yet 😊

Emmacb82 · 31/03/2024 20:41

All I would say is that they are not advised for a reason. It only takes one bad jerk. Obviously the risk is greater once your bump is bigger but personally I wouldn’t take that risk. I just stuck to the rides I was allowed on and my husband took the kids on the others. It’s a lovely place to people watch! And although I was gutted to miss out on some of their first rides, we had other magical experiences such as the parades and meeting the characters etc. The good thing about Disney is that it’s not all about the rides. I will add though that I was 7 months when I went so a massive bump. I just wasn’t willing to risk it and I don’t think that would have been any different if I was 7 weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️ Baby is too precious.

Totally understand where you’re coming from. Thank you for your advise and understanding

@MrsTiffin I have just found out I am pregnant and due to go to Disney with our 3 year old daughter in November. I am hoping to get the wristband. I just wondered how it worked with priority viewing for parades etc (is there like a meeting point where you just show up?) and also for character meets is it a different queue? Do you get priority access to the shows too?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations!

So for the parades you have access to the disabled area, I think its you plus 2 people for the parades. The areas are normally a lot quieter so good for little ones to get a good view!

For the character interactions you don't have to wait in the main queue, if it's quiet they may just ask you to stand to the side and then they will put you in next, or if its busy they'll give you a card with a time to come back. Either way saves waiting around because some of the character meets can have big queues.

Same for the shows too, go and tell the cast member you have the bracelet and they will put you into a separate queue. You normally get access first so can get a good seat, but you do need to be there about 30 mins early. Depending on when you go if its quiet you might walk straight into a show, we were lucky last time to walk in to mickey and the magician and the philarmonic show, but it was very quiet!

You also can use the bracelet in the restaurants, you'll get a separate queue too which saves a bit of time.

So when I went I took a copy of my medical exemption certificate, the one you get for your free prescriptions. I also took a copy of my scan photo. I presented them to the information desk at my hotel (we stayed at Cheyenne and they were very helpful).

For the rides you just show the band, no one questioned it, you just have to educate yourself as to which rides you can and can’t go on. I went on some that were classed as “not recommended” on the grounds that bump was small and I was early on but be aware some of the rides like Peter Pan are actually bumpier than you may think and I got off feeling a little uncomfortable. I was even cheeky at some of the rides and asked if my partner could use my band so I wasn’t stood waiting for him for too long as seating isn’t something they have much of. Some were accommodating even though they’re not supposed to.

I didn’t really use the priority access for the parades, I didn’t figure out how that worked but it worked for the character meet and greets, you just go to the person managing it, show your band and they’ll book you in for a time slot.

MrsSkylerWhite · 27/09/2024 13:06

Really wouldn’t be going on rides whilst pregnant - most advise against it.
Be very, very careful with buffet food.

Chelouu · 27/09/2024 13:14

Thanks so much. Do you know if you can use the bands on rides and if so can I take my daughter and husband on with me?

I'm super excited but also a little disappointed that I wont be able to go on some of the rides.

Yes you can, there are different classifications for the rides, suitable, not recommended (which is generally left to your own discretion unless you’re visibly/heavily pregnant) and then not suitable where you just can’t go on at all. You just go to the accessible entrance or fast pass point for each ride, show your band and you can get on along with 3 others in your party.

I’d recommend downloading the app as it will tell you which rides come under which classification so you know before going but each ride has a sign at the queue entrance which tells you anyway.
