Hello,

We are all booked and paid up for 13 nights in May ( 2 adults , 1 DS) we are travelling over on the Portsmouth to Cean ferry. First ever abroad trip, very excited family. 😁

I am hoping someone can answer my questions. 😊

Does anyone know if the new rules about certain amounts of Euros a day for a prebooked holiday is checked?

We have budgeted for our stay, but checking on the various websites they want you to be able to show 65 Euro a day for the duration.
Does that need to be in cash in the bank?
Can it be a mixture of credit card etc and do they actually check this?
I mean, we are going to a Eurocamp, it's a budget holiday, do they take that into account?

Also, does anyone happen to know what the crossing is like? We have booked a cabin for both ways but I'm wondering if my then 6 year old is going to be climbing the walls. 😬

Hints and tips most welcome!

Thank you.

Is this a new thing? I've stayed at various French sites (not Eurocamp but similar) and nobody has ever asked for evidence of funds so long as I've paid the accommodation bill.

I've also done the Caen crossing and various other Brittany Ferries crossings, since mine were babies. If you are crossing overnight, there is only time to sleep. Daytime there is plenty of space to walk around etc, and a restaurant to eat. Some crossings have a cinema. I would take some colouring, small toys etc. Mine always enjoy the ferry.
