The holy grail. Hotels with interconnecting room or proper beds for children

I realise I am looking for the holy grail!

Looking for a lovely hotel in Europe. Preferably in Spain, Portugal etc as Greece and Turkey are too hot for the summer holidays.

I don’t want a family room, or an apartment that has sofa beds or pull out beds for the kids. They’re 10 and 12 and like their comforts! A separate room with twin full size single beds is a minimum. It’s so hard to filter for this on holiday websites, unless you can recommend once that does filter for this.

And to complicate things further, they want a water park too!

Any ideas or recommendations please…. TIA

When my dc were that age I used to search for “family suites” in medium sized privately run hotels.

TUI Blue hotels, we’ve stayed at a few labelled for families and for all. Their family room is a two bedroom, 2 bathroom room with a communal seating area between the bedrooms and one balcony. I have 3 dc aged 16-11 they get a full sized single bed, nightstand each and dh and I had a super king. We have stayed at two in Turkey, one in Cyprus and one in Greece which have been the same layout, bathroom and decor varied but bed size and type didn’t.

Yes we have the same dilemma every year. Can recommend this hotel

whoops

the family room has two PROPER rooms with separate bathrooms. No water park but plenty of pools, beach nearby. We went with Jet 2, very international crowd would say even split between Spanish/UK/French/Italian. No water park on site but this place is 5-10 minutes walk.

Vila Gale in the Tavira town centre has rooms with interconnecting doors. we use them all the time

Thank you all, so many hotels, so little time. You won't be surprised to hear that my favourites are over budget! Grin

My kids are both like princess and the bloody pea! We shared a one room travel lodge with put u up type beds for the kids once. The boy child ran his hand along the sheet and said disparagingly 'mummy, this sheet is really bobbly.' I've unwittingly raised monsters!

Protur Biomar Sa Coma (nicest] and Protur Sa Coma Playa in Mallorca have some suites with two rooms. We were last at the Biomar 4-5 years ago mind you, so you’d have to look at recent reviews. This grouping of Protur hotels has a great wee water park, crazy golf, many sports options too. I think the Biomar is now a TUI Sensatori which puts me off a little - I hope they retained the superb management team.
Barcelo hotels often do two room options for families too. There are a few options in the Balearics as well as mainland Spain.

Iberostar do interconnecting rooms, I've stayed at one in Tenerife Costa Adeje that was lovely and would recommend
