no you don't have to do it yourself. usually you ring and register and they give you a code such as A1. you then label all your stuff with your code and price. then you take them to the venue on the morning of the sale, leave them there, and then pick up whatever hasn't sold at the end of the day. NCT usually take abouty 30% of your sales, you keep 70%. they're fab imho

When I sold stuff I was told to price things about 1/3 of what you paid. My local NCT had a minimum price of 50p for things. Some people grouped together say a couple of babygrows or pyjamas for 50p. Make sure you put enough time aside to go through and label stuff.I found that labels came off easily so used safety pins and labels tied on with string.
You had to deliver your stuff for sale before 9am in some labelled bags. At the end of the sale anything that hadn't sold would be put back in your labelled bags. You then came along at the end of the sale and queued up to get your money.
I used to sell stuff at the NCT and then buy some more.

I've done two with two different branches. The instructions were different for each, so make sure you read them carefully. Clothes all have to be on hangers, so don't throw any free supermarket hangers away ! I found it great for selling small clothes, kid's books and toys. (Although they accepted clothing up to 8yrs I didn't sell much over 4yrs.) I had already got rid of most baby equipment separately so can't comment on that. The second time I marked down prices on things I hadn't sold first time round to try and clear it. I don't think it is worth trying to sell anything large that you can sell locally via Adtrader or an advert in the local paper - you lose too much of the price with the 30% "commission". The last sale I did insisted on everything being delivered in boxes, not bags - so I used a fleet of Virgin Wine boxes - very appropriate!
