Has anyone stayed in their sites and can recommend?

Our kids are 1,3,5.

I like the look of Brittany for ease and proximity but wondering about the weather there in July!?

We stayed at a Yelloh site in the Gironde and it was fine. The pitches (we take a touring caravan) weren't the biggest and definitely not flat but we were happy with the site. The things I didn't like were that for some reason they had decided not to run any children's clubs or evening entertainment and we seemed to be one of a handful of British families on a site of 700 units. Not a big deal but without clubs our DS didn't get much chance to make friends. We found the Les Castels and Sandaya Camping to be better than Yelloh with far superior accommodations, pools and activities. As for Brittany the weather will be similar to Cornwall so if you want sun you need to go down further the Vendee has some great resorts and magnificent beaches, and is warmer than Brittany.

I’ve not been to any in Brittany but went as a child in the 90’s / early 20’s and the weather was hit and miss each time. As a child I wasn’t bothered about swimming in the rain but not sure id like it now. I just remember parents trying to entertain us on the days it was rain all day.

We went to Sandaya Sequoia Park last year, not far from La Rochelle. About 5 hours from Caen. We really liked it and I was apprehensive that it would be a bit Brits Abroad but it wasn’t and we’ll be going back to do some more Sandaya’s next year (due in summer so giving it a miss this year). It had huge pools, including an indoor pool with young kids bit for the cooler mornings and a petting zoo.

I wouldn’t discount a Sandaya if you see one in the area, when we looked at them we went to visit a yelloh in person and the facilities didn’t seem quite as good on first glance. We stayed in a premium cottage and had everything we needed.

would be interested to hear some other Sandaya recommendations too!

I would recommend them. Lots of Eurocamp sites are actually just a static on a Yelloh village site. I always think North Brittany is similar weather wise to Cornwall.
Huttopia sites tend to be smaller and more chilled (maybe just a pool and a bar that does pizza rather than lots of slides, playgrounds etc.) so depends what you are looking for

I think I posted on your other post, Yelloh are fine, pay for the best you can afford. Don't count on the eater in Brittany, you need to go further south.

I went to Le Pin Parasol last July, we had a fabulous time but the heat was a bit much for my son a couple of times and we had to retreat to the bars with board games for some good shade as we were camping.
i think this year is supposed to be hotter than last.

We stayed at one inLoire valley last year. It was fine but got very hot the second week. Accommodation was nice , we payed for premium but generally the site was well laid out. Pool area was clean. Can’t comment on kids clubs as mine are older but plenty of trampolines sports options etc.

Would choose one again if that helps.

We’ve stayed on Yelloh sites and Sandaya. Both are good. We usually end up at about 4* (or whatever is the level below premium) and it’s always been good quality.

if eurocamp/canvas don’t have pitches on site there will definitely be fewer British people, but the children always find someone to play with! Often Dutch children.
