Too fat for disney

Hello all,

I am going to Disney land Paris soon and I think I’m too fat!! I’m a size 24/26 and 22 stone. Will I be able to fit on most of the rides/ attractions? Does anyone have any experience of being plus size at Disney?

My mobility is fine I can walk for miles so I’m not too worried about being on my feet most of the day it’s just the sheer panic of getting on a ride and being told I’m too big… this happened at Drayton manor about 5 years ago and I was slimmer then too

I went as a size 22ish at 18stone (5’3). It was mostly okay. I fit on all rides (but only went on adult ones, not any of the younger kids ones).

There was one ride, a roller coaster but can’t remember which, where the ride attendant looked at me and made me and my friends sit in a particular part of the ride. I felt shit about it but actually my friends didn’t even notice that it was because of my weight/size. So the look he gave me felt awful to me but was clearly much more discreet than I realised and he didn’t say anything so could have been worse!

And at the same size I’ve been to other theme parks where I haven’t managed to fit on some of the more exciting roller coasters so overall though DLP was good about it!

I know if it's the US parks you would be fine but not sure about Paris. There's a decent guide here that could be helpful- www.wandermustfamily.com/disneyland-paris-plus-size/

I feel your pain. I am an 18 on top but my chest is large. The man out the over the shoulder secure on me and I thought my implants were going to come out of my mouth it was so tight. I got off.

You'll be uncomfortable on the majority of rides & may not fit on some of the rides in Paris. I went as a size 20 and the rides weren't that comfortable due to my size. I had a gastric sleeve and it's changed my life

Sometimes there is a sample seat before you qué so you can check but I guess that in itself may feel a bit embarrassing

There are Facebook groups for plus-size people going to Disney (Paris and in the US). They will give you an idea of what will be ok and what you may struggle with.

I have an enormous stomach at the moment and the only ride I struggled on was the Crush's Coaster in the Disney studios park (the bar came down so far it squashed me to the extent that I felt sick) but otherwise I was fine.

Have a great time - it's a great experience even without the rides, especially the Avengers Campus .

I went as a size 22, it was more the embarrassment of trying to get in and out of the rides for me. There wasn't anything I didn't fit in, but the practicalities of it were not great.
Was also 30 degrees & I was absolutely sweating, wasn't a good experience at all, on the plus side it gave me the push to lose weight.

Don’t attempt the orbitrons - you may fit in but the getting out is a nightmare if you are a size 12/14 let alone any bigger

That is really rude and uncalled for - "normal person"??

Hi OP, it's been a while since I was at Paris but I was around the same size as you, with all my weight on my stomach, and I don't recall having any difficulties going on any rides. I go to Disney World regularly and also haven't had any problems there. I have had problems at other theme parks, including Universal and Alton Towers (had to do the walk of shame on The Wicker Man last summer).

I have found that the more modern rides are more difficult as the in-thing seems to be a ride seat that's quite snug, but I am sure there would be enough for you to enjoy yourself.

Please ignore the ridiculous poster above, of course you will be safe and those around you will also be safe. Shock horror, large people can actually walk.

I went on the orbitrons and the only reason it took me longer to get out was because I have a dodgy back and no core strength - nothing to do with size!
