My teenage children are desperate to go to Europa Park in Germany this summer. Has anyone been and can recommend what to do and where to stay? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes! And it is wonderful. The on-site hotels are beautiful but very pricey, although when we go we always stay here as to us it is part of the experience (our favourite is Bell Rock) The town of Rust has many, many good hotels though if budget is an issue.

I would check out some of the threads on Tower Street towersstreet.com/talk/forums/europastreet-discussion.33/ to get more detail of attractions, but essentially EuropaPark doesn’t need the meticulous planning of Disney etc. If you have a couple of days in the park you will easily fit in every ride - more than once - just by wandering around. Yes, there will be some queues but nothing horrendous and vary a lot over any day.

It is a beautiful place - enjoy!

Yes - twice, but it has been years since my last visit. We also went to Freiburg but it has the cathedral and not much else.
On one occasion I think we went to Strasbourg and and then drove over as it was only an hour away.
Phantasialand near Cologne have also done twice, as Cologne has the Lindt chocolate museum.
Europapark I think has the black cabs ride to Michael Caine film music and Phantasialand has the dropping tower.
But I have slept since.
Viel Spass!

I live an hour away.so line up your questions 🤣🤣🤣

The resort hotels are the best. I've stayed in all of them except the new Nordic one attached to Rulantica, the waterpark opened recently.

If you are driving over, you get free parking with resort hotels and special access to the hotel monorail platform which saves queuing at the gate.

My favourite is Hotel Bell Rock, second is Colosseum. All have a theme, New England (weirdly 😅) Italy, Spain, Portugal. They also have heated pools in the hotel. The Bell Rock has an excellent dinner buffet and a charming restaurant. All have a themed buffet actually.

There's no fast pass access, so queues can be long at busy times. There are many themed restaurants and all are very reasonable in price compared to Disney.

They have a new virtual reality area starting, so you could spend 2 days in the park, one virtual reality and a day in the waterpark. Rulantica is excellent, clean, indoor heated pools and floors, adult spa, cocktail swim up pool, outdoor loungers pool and bars. You have a watch which you use to buy drinks and snacks and pay on exit.

The Nordic themed hotel is connected to the water park, and has two restaurants and a bar etc. It looks amazing, haven't seen the rooms though.

Swiss school holidays start beginning July, french and German more in line with UK. So it can be busy in August, avoid the 1st if you can, Swiss national day is a big thing in the park.

P.s. forgot to say easyJet fly to Basel Mulhouse Freiburg airport from Gatwick, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, and you can take a bus to the park, if you aren't driving.

The website for Mack (named after the family who own the park) is available in English, it's quite straightforward but the hotels get booked FAST!
