Are any of you still making sure your travel insurance has good COVID cover?
If you are, would you recommend any particular company.
Since the pandemic when we've been lucky enough to travel ive used StaySure as theirs was one that was always being recommended as being good for the COVID aspect but I'm now wondering if there's other companies. We have a few trips this year so want to get something that will cover them all.

Most companies have covid cover…although most are now excluding the scenario where if you need a negative test to travel and you get a positive, they tend to think that you need to pay the airline to switch travel dates if that happens.

Ive used Admiral in the past as get a huge discount since they do our car and contents insurance.

Recently, I’ve used True Traveller as they have reasonable prices for coverage in the US. They partner with AXA who are a “too big to fail” insurance company.

Also used Rock Insurance Group for EU travel.

I think there are lots of comparison websites as well so you can look for who is offering the best deals at the moment.

I recently renewed my annual policy with Coverwise as their Covid cover was top-rated by Forbes and they have an excellent reputation. I've never had to claim with them though and that's always the real test.

I've just arranged cover with Admiral as I also have building and contents insurance so with the discount it made the quote really competitive. Thank you, I wouldn't have even thought of Admiral 😊

You’re welcome, Admiral is my first choice but I put the others up there too as I wanted to reassure you covid cover is common and you should definitely shop around!

True traveller was really good for post departure travel insurance…as in you go on holiday and then realise, oh shit, I forgot the travel insurance. Or, oh shit, my annual travel insurance policy has just expired! I was able to get cover in twenty minutes online effective immediately, but any accident in first 48hrs has to be witnessed/documented to prevent insurance fraud. Most post departure insurance has a 48hr no exceptions waiting period. They were the only ones that started right away.

We don't travel till March so cover will be fine, but good to know there's options if I do forget when this one runs out next year!
