Has anyone got any recommendations for towns/cities accessible by Eurostar that's a bit off the beaten track? Thinking of taking the teenage DC's in February and looking for ideas. Thanks

San Sebastian, Spain.

@Summerhillsquare

What's the best route to get to San Sebastián 😊

Eurostar to Hendaye, France, and then hop on the metro across the border.

There's also a direct train to Avignon in the summer. Bruges and all Belgian towns easy peasy. More European sleeper connections coming next year. Try Man in Seat 61 for further inspiration.

Rotterdam - a bit out there I know - but you could stay on a houseboat, do boat trips. There's a zoo, cruise liner you can visit, maritime museum, visit the Hague, go to the beach (though Feb maybe not the best weather)

Thank you 😊

Sounds a fantastic trip

My son and I had a fantastic time in the northern beaches of Holland in the summer.. Eurostar to Amsterdam and then a 25 min local train to Egmond BInnen. Lovely beaches and a sand dune national park with beautiful forests.

Thanks everyone. I think Northern Europe will be best this trip, but love the idea of travelling down to Spain by train!
Only ever driven through Rotterdam after getting off the ferry there. We might have to take a look.
