Eurocamp - hiring a tent rather than a caravan??

Looking at booking a eurocamp break for a few days next summer. It’s much cheaper to hire one of their tents than to stay in a caravan (obviously!). They promise real beds. Has anyone done this with kids? How did it go?
My normal limit with normal camping is 2 nights as I tend to sleep badly. Not sure if “real beds” will be enough of a game changer.

My experience is over thirty years ago, but I found the problem with the tents was the lack of soundproofing. There was a young baby in a tent nearby who screamed and screamed at night and, though I felt sorry for the poor parents, it made sleep impossible.

Always loved it. Take earplugs just in case of the above though. The beds used to be metal framed with around 6” mattresses- comfortable enough!

Beds in the safari tents tended to be a bit more robust, with bunks for children.

My son loved his Eurocamp holidays so much, he worked for them in his gap years!

Big drawback for me - having to trek to the toilet snd shower block.

They’re ok but it’s the shared toilets and showers that is a deal breaker for me. We also camp in the UK and I have a two night limit too, I sleep ok but I can’t cope with the loos for more than a couple of days.

We did the safari style tents when the DSs were around 4/5 and 11/12ish. The beds were fine but like a PP says, I didn't enjoy the trips to the shower block and toilets - especially in the dead of night! It wasn't so much the sharing aspect that I didn't like, just that they weren't "right there".

We did the safari tents in Bekse Bergen, Holland

Our children were 8 and 10 so old enough to go to the toilets alone. (I think this is crucial, I wouldnt want to do it with a toddler)

We absolutely loved it, we had a wonderful holiday and the toilets and showers were immaculate. There were only 10 tents sharing the facilities so they were never busy.

Id definitely do it again

The beds were comfotable normal beds

We had a tent a few years agoin France. All I can remember is that my bed head was right up against the fridge, separated only by a canvas 'wall'. It was really noisy at night.

There are some sites now which have sanitaire privee. Your own loo, shower, sink and fridge in a tiny cabin on your pitch, but you have to take your own tent.

We've done it a couple of times and really liked it! As well as proper beds you have electric lighting, fridge and cooker.

If you want to save even more money, book via Canvas rather than Eurocamp or, cheaper still, book direct with the campsite.

We stayed in a safari tent once maybe in thevendee that had a shower/ loo. It was actually a great tent with a large decking area and would have been a great holiday but it pissed down the whole time
