Where were your best holidays aboard with children of this age? We already have an all inclusive booked for 2 weeks and a few trips to Center parcs. I’d like to go abroad but not sure where so I’m looking for inspiration. Not too much walking as the little one won’t go in a buggy but also won’t be able to do super long distances.

Any ideas or inspiration would be much appreciated.

At that age, we had a magical trip to Efteling in the Netherlands.
Copenhagen is brilliant as a city break for small kids, and we’ve also had some good stays at Eurocamp-style parks right on the coast in Brittany, the Vendee and Salou.

At that age we did a trip to Stockholm / Sweden and Copenhagen which kids enjoyed. We also stayed here some years later in Sweden which kids that age might enjoy, its a place with lots of alpacas which you can walk and a swimming pool (if good weather). Would need hire car for that but only a short journey from Stockholm, we booked via Booking.com alpaca.se/en/boende/ Its a place for a few days rather than 2 weeks but we travelled to Stockholm and Copenhagen easily, short flight between the two.

Also did Maderia which worked quite well and kids liked seeing bananas growing. We did apartments but with restaurants on site and pools on site. At that age I found you needed quite a lot quick to get to.

Beekse Bergen in the Netherlands was fantastic this summer with a 2.5yo and a 5yo. We had a day out to Efteling but there’s plenty to see and do on site. We went on the ferry and it was really straightforward.

You can hire a pull along wagon to use on site which was much more convenient than a buggy.

Center Parcs de Vossemeren - abroad but familiar too. The bonus is that it's a lot cheaper than the UK version, particularly once you're there.

A bucket and spade holiday in the south of France was lovely and memorable. We flew into Montpellier, hired a car, stayed at a tiny Eurocamp by the beach and went to the market, took a ferry to a little island etc.

Caravan (mobile home) at Trinite Sur Mer in Brittany. Great beaches nearby. Lots of fantastic towns and plenty to see and do. We loved Brittany with young children. We got babysitting and found a Michelin starred restaurant too.

If Dc doesn’t want the buggy, avoid cities!
