Hand luggage with wheels...

Can anyone recommend hand luggage that you can carry on with EasyJet but has wheels? Not the cabin luggage but the 'free' bag you can carry on.
I always end up carrying dc, shopping bags, coats etc and melting in the heat (regular flyers due to family setup) so if I can wheel it that would be perfect! I have seen some but they're quite expensive so cheap and cheerful would be even better!

I'm a fan of a tripp case but you'd need to check the case sizes fit easy jet requirements

Amazon have some if you search for the dimensions (45 x 36 x 20). Can't recommend any as I want one a bit smaller that can also be used on Ryanair/Wizzair but they don't seem to have any of that size with wheels.

DH has one as part of a set, but be warned !
It is often taken away at the gate/steps & put in the hold (no extra charge) as the plane is full.

How about a soft squashy bag with a shoulder strap? Mine has never been taken away.

It can be a maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including any handles or wheels) and needs to fit under the seat in front of you.

So this size? The type that has to fit under your seat?

If you google ‘easyjet cabin bag’ then Amazon will bring some up around the £45-50 price mark. They claim that the whole size, inc the wheels and handle, for the dimensions.

Not sure they’d be great to have in your foot space though, maybe if the children are small it could go under their seat instead.

Be warned though, the hard wheeled cases are often the ones stopped at the plane door or gate to be out in the hold (free of charge) unless you've paid for the speedy boarder option.

Thanks all. It does need to be 45 x 36 x 20. I have a few bags that size (including a Tripp one, which is great).
but really hoping to find something with wheels as it would make my life easier!

Is this bag for underseat storage or overhead? I'm guessing it's underseat. If you find one, does that mean you will have TWO wheelie bags, one for the overhead and one for underseat? How will you will you two by yourself? Sorry for all the questions.

I have two suggestions for you.

  1. look up "small cabin bags for women" on Amazon. First one to come up is one that conforms to Easyjet underseat dimensions at around 12 quid. It does NOT have wheels, but has a flap that you slide down the handles of the bigger wheelie meaning you are not carrying it. That's what I have and it works a treat.
  2. look up "wheeled backpacks". There are lots out there and conform to the dimensions (or are smaller). I use these constantly for shopping when out for a walk. Sling it over my shoulder when not full, then use the wheels when heavy and full.

I hope that helps in some way. I rarely use Easyjet preferring Ryanair as it's more or less free for all with them now. No measuring or weighing on the last four flights anyway.

Thank you- it's for short trips where I only have an under seat bag but also numerous ex, their shoulder bags and coats etc. they'd be more compliant at pulling a wheel bag than a rucksack

Of the back of another thread i bought the eastpak little wheelie bag and then a big backpak that can sit on top of that so that's my new cabin plus personal bag that has enough room for a week away so should meet your needs. Amazon have had them on sale since before BF so they might still be on sale.

Are you allowed to take two bags onto the plane, I thought it was just one uNader the seat. Also does it fit under the seat or does it take up leg room. Have first flight with easyJet coming up and would prefer not to wait for hold luggage to come out.

dudsville · 08/12/2022 06:55

Check your airlines guidance online, but usually 1 small bag(size specified by airline) plus one "personal item". This is be a handbag for many, but a backpack allows for so much more.

Unless you have paid extra you are only allowed to take a single small bag. Its meant to fit under the seat in front and so does take up leg room. If you are lucky you'll be able to put it in the overhead locker (if you want)

If you have paid extra you'll be able to take 2 bags (one small, one larger) - the larger cabin bag definitely needs to go in the overhead locker.
