I’m going to Manchester this weekend and I’m super excited. I think it’s the most underrated city in the UK, if not the whole of Europe!

I go about twice a year and love:
-the restaurants
-Night life esp. Northern quarter
-the people - they’re so FUNNY and down to earth
-the prices (I’m from London 😜)
-how football mad they are
-hidden gems I seem to discover every time, like John Rylands library on Deansgate - you can just walk in!

So what are your most underrated cities and why? 🤩

Granada, I just returned from there are absolutely loved it.
I'm about to go to Granada – any tips? (I'm going to see the Alhambra, obviously, and have booked tickets.) What's the weather like/what should I wear? Nice cafes/food? Good art? Hidden gems like churches people don't know about?

Absolutely everyone wore a puffa jacket and jeans and leggings. We went to the palace on our first day and the second to a monastery and some cave homes. The buses are very good, just over €1 per journey. Inside Alhambra palace there is a hotel called American hotel and we had a lovely lunch there.
You get tapas with pretty much every evening drink you buy. The prices were reasonable. Lots of attractions do a QR code and this works like an audio guide.

Since life started to get back to normal post-covid, I have had very enjoyable short breaks in :

Liverpool
Belfast
Nuremburg

All highly recommended.

@IntentionalError - how funny, we’ve been on post COVID breaks to Liverpool and Belfast, for the first time for both! OP, would certainly recommend both. Clearly we need to get to Nuremberg next!

Thank you, very helpful! I don't drink, unfortunately, so unless you get tapas with soft drinks/tea/coffee too, I'll have to rely on my DP for a supply Grin
