6 ladies 49-51 planning a group 50th holiday.

Help us decide where could suit?

Within about 4 hours of UK with short transfer time.

Beach location but within access to nearby city or explore big town.

Bit of an evening buzz.

Something that feels a bit special so maybe nice hotel, apartment or villa.

Price range flexible but let's say around £1000 per head. (Could be a couple of hundred either side)

We've spoken about Italy but not sure where, Greece but not sure where and haven't really considered Spain or Portugal but it's not off the menu.

You read so many stories on here of group holidays going tits up because of unanticipated differing expectations. If I was going with my school friends, with whom I have spent a number of long weekends in the past few years, I know that a big self catering villa with a pool within walking distance of restaurants and bars, and near a bus route into an old town would suit us well. This would give us lots of freedom to do as we pleased and opt in or out. We're all easy going and live together comfortably.

Alternatively, with a group new to holidaying together, hotels (preferably with own rooms) and half board might be better.

I’m a huge Malaga fan, it’s classy, easily accessible, great weather, beach and city, plenty to do - that’s where I’d go! www.hotelmolinalario.com/en?gclid=Cj0KCQiAg_KbBhDLARIsANx7wAwXWYUvWSIZeZgNoz996AMYBMmfqpRbZnAZ9WppWiFBajv04waYOdgaAtrtEALw_wcB

Going against what you said totally here lol.but we found the hotel ai didn’t fit when a group of differing tastes and needs went.
for us it was a villa, gite, farmhouse in France that seriously pulled it out the bag.they are in the towns often so you can walk in to eat and be near the buzz but out of it too. People can come in and out eat when they want, pop in, nap or split up knowing singularly u could just go home.easier to also cater for all needs and do special nights in front of the fire more relaxed, doing your own thing, leaving your shit around the place.it felt so much more comfy than a hotel where it never quite felt like you could switch off.
it had enough accommodations and each room was perfect.

This, completely! I would absolutely prefer this option.

More "at home" to chill with your friends, lounge about without having strangers around, and in whatever you feel comfortable wearing. Showered and hair wrapped up in a towel is perfectly acceptable with friends but perhaps not in a hotel lounge....

Lisbon or Saville

We have always gone in hotels for ladies breaks.
No difference in room size or ambiguity over who pays what. If it's separate rooms, then if someone needs to pull out it doesn't impact anyone else.
I shared an adjoining room with a friend this summer and I'd never do it again due to her thoughts on how much she should pay for the smaller room versus mine NB I certainly didn't think they were equally priced.
Hotel and shared or separate rooms keeps it all nice and fair.
