do you like it?

Is it an awful holiday camp type place?

I need convincing .

Thinking of midweek in June after dd gcse's.

I presume ds will think it's fab as he's 5 ,but will 16 yr old dd die of boredom?

Just got back actually..

I love it and you can make it whatever you want it to be.

Would your 16YO be happy to do stuff with the family?

MascaraOHara · 30/01/2008 15:28

my dd loves it and she is 5.. and to top it off she absolutely loves the Time Out club.. which of course means I get to go to the spa.

brimfull · 30/01/2008 15:29

she would do stuff with the family

we'd be sufficiently far enough away from any friends seeing her

I thought elvedon was cosmetically very very tired (the pool complex, where the heating had broken down, and our villa in particular)

I hear other CPs don't feel quite so on-their-knees but there's no way I'm going back to find out... I felt completely trapped there with all the orange-food outlets. But good friends whose opinions I value swear by the whole experience and go back regularly [madwomen]

If she will participate in some stuff and/or go swimming then she'll be fine.. if she won't do anything she might get bored unless she takes a friend.

I love it and so does dd we've been abbout 6-7 times now, always to Elvendon but as I say dd is only 5

looking on the website it seems you have no choice but to stay for 4 nights midweek

seems a long time to me...will I be bored of swimming and mini golf

I can pass 4 days easy.. I always do the Spa while dd is at Tiem Out club- you really must.. it is lush!

Swimmig, I do once or twice just cos dd loves it.. then I tend to do one or two activities with her, maybe play badminton, go for a walk etc

mostly I just laze about.

the food is pretty average and very overpriced as they have a captive audience. Maybe go for a long weekend.

my dd1 is 16, and dd2 is 5, we went to elveden last August and they loved it. my dd1 is a sporty type so she loved the swimming, cycling and exercise classes, she also took part in a badminton tournament which was quite competitive. We didn't do everything together which made it more enjoyable. While it is pricey, the Time out clubs were good for the younger one as I got time to spend with my dd1 (although I did not take up her offer of attending the gym together , no way. No dashing about to get to work, rushed breakfast, just taking things easy, sheer bliss. The let down of the place though is the restaurants. Service not too good, and the food not to our liking but saying that, I love my food so didn't mind cooking.
