Butlins

My kids are asking to go to butlins and I'm clueless! Had a good look over the website but hoping the MN gang can help.

Is it a bit like centre parks in that you have to sell a kidney to fund all the extra activities on site?

Fully expect to obviously find our own arcade sessions etc but are things like rides etc an extra cost?

Thanks in advance.

Most things are included (the shows, pool and rides) but high ropes, crazy golf etc aren’t. I went a few weeks ago expecting to hate it and we had a really lovely holiday! Xx

Thank you @CalculatingSuccess that is helpful. I went about 20 years ago when it was a back to the 80s weekend but I don't remember any of it....😬🤣

Download the Butlins app ..there are 3 . Choose the resort you want to go to. You can browse the site.. activities Inc prices ...shows etc. Go to the website and do a dummy booking. This will show you prices and options..term time is cheaper. Especially early in the year.

Butlins has such a reputation (possibly from snobs who've never been!) but we found it brilliant when the kids were little.

Most things are included and the shows are excellent, it was over 10 years ago but the Lazytown show was there and my then preschoolers loved it!

We've always stayed in an apartment so can take food and drinks but the food package can be really good value. It seems to change price depending on when I've been so sometimes we've done the breakfast and dinner package and other times not.

How old are your children? Mine loved it when they were little and the last time we went between mine and my sisters children they were 12-16 so they were able to have a bit of freedom and go around without us which they enjoyed.

Also, when they were little mine were really early risers (usually around 5am) and the first activity at Butlins started at 8am. It was a dream so be able to go out and do something at that time, when in the normal world no kids activities start before 10am!

I'd say go for it
