Holiday of a lifetime

Next year we’ll have a no strings payout of about £5k and extra annual leave, so want to take DC (ages 8 and 5 then) on a special holiday. Not too long haul ideally (maximum 8 hours) and needs to be a pool/beach, ideally all inclusive holiday. I was considering the Maldives, but I’m not sure how child friendly that is, also to go luxury, all inclusive would that be an obscene amount of money? Alternatively, Mauritius?

I would go on a cruise. Loads for the children to do. Visiting new places every day without the stress of travelling there. Great food. And entertainment.

OP for your budget, look at Cuba. Beautiful country.

Have a look at Maxx Royal Golf and Spa Belek , in Antalya Turkey- ultra 5* AI and totally amazing and luxurious for the whole family. Only 4 hours flight .

Turkey as a closer destination could be good for what you want, some beautiful hotels around Belek especially if you fly in to Antalya. I stayed at the Voyage Belek a few years back and it was ace, excellent service. It's right next door to the Maxx Royal recommended above. A lot of hotels in that area offer similar- multiple restaurants, both buffet and a la carte, various eating options during the day too. Plus a good activity programme that isn't in your face, multiple pools, on-site waterpark, kids club that runs all day. I loved our time there. Also room options are great for families, they tend to have split rooms with a separate twin and double bed area, bathroom and wardrobes in the middle.

I haven't been but I really wanted to try the Lujo in Bodrum, looks great but was a bit pricy when I was looking. I also looked at the Dreams resorts in the Caribbean which looked ace, again can't recommend as haven't stayed but may tick the boxes for what you are looking for.

Hope you find your dream holiday OP!

I've just booked Mauritius for our family of 6 for June. We are staying in a 5 star resort , all inclusive ( 4 hungry big "kids"), with lots of activities and watersports. I booked through Emirates Airlines and whole holiday is 12,000 euro ( flying from Dublin) for flights, transfers, accommodation and all food and drinks. Can't wait now🥳
