Thetford Forest - High Lodge - has some lovely walks and part of the adventure playground (quite a small part) is for toddlers. Quite a nice cafe place as well.

Banham Zoo is nice - not cheap, but clean and not too big - doesn't look rundown and seedy like some zoos. Rip off, horrible cafe place though - manky burgers and overpriced chips (IMHO).

Bressingham Steam place - an odd set-up in that there's a bit of everything - steam trains (big, real ones and little trains for rides), beautiful gardens, and a garden centre. And a surreal Dad's Army museum with loads of the vehicles they used. All very odd, but we've always enjoyed it - they even have an old steam roundabout.

Wroxham barns would be quite a trek from Thetford, I wouldn't do it. Poringland Playbarn is closer and not all that dissimilar. What about Banham zoo, Colchester zoo, Africa Alive, for amusement type zoo parks. Stroll on GT Yarmouth seafront, stroll in Lowestoft, stroll around Wymondham and find a cafe there, Ely isn't far, either and has oodles to offer. In addition to other places mentioned.

Southwold is lovely though quite expensive, it has a lovely pier! and a amusement arcade and beach huts.............

Sorry Flack but the Playbarn is nothing like Wroxham Barns!

I live in Ipswich and have a 27 month old. We love going to hollow trees farm park. Its got lots of animals to feed/look at on a farm trail walk, a farm shop with fresh veg etc for sale and a cafe that does lovely lunches! Its in Semer, near Hadleigh.

Fimbo -- okay, fair enough. I've only heard a lot about Wroxham barns, not actually been there, must admit it always sounds like a glorified and over-priced set of farm-theme shops, to me...

Supposedly Wroxham barns has
Outdoor Farm Animal petting (check, Poringland playbarn has this, too). Although I'm not sure if the outdoor areas are open for Feb. 1/2 term.
A funfair area (Open on weekends, Poringland has large indoor and outdoor play areas open year-round).
Several shops selling crafts (Poringland playbarn has a small shop area).

Both have cafes, and allow people to bring their own picnics.
What is so different, or better about going to Wroxham Barns? Why should OP trek that far?
