Disney cruise

Hi, I’m thinking of booking a Disney cruise for next year. I’m happy with the price of the cruise but was wondering if you tend to spend a lot on board? Cruised with p&o/ princess cruises in the past but never Disney. Any advice appreciated! X

Internet onboard is not cheap! Make sure you sign up for the free data on the first day, turn off everything that will use unwanted data, and take advantage of free Wi-Fi in ports.
DH and I don’t drink much alcohol, but I can imagine the cost of that would quickly add up. Last year cocktails were about 10 dollars and beers just a little bit cheaper than that.
Some of the Disney-organised excursions were very pricey, so we saved a bit by organising our own.
Each ship has a couple of restaurants that are adults only and charge a substantial fee to dine there. To save money, you can obviously skip these restaurants.
The spa and a couple of other activities onboard cost extra like the sports simulators.
There are a lot of gift and souvenir shops onboard.
Photographers are at most character meet and greets, out around the ship on sea days and in the restaurants. They also frequently set up with professional backdrops. The official photographers aren’t allowed to use your own camera to take pictures, but there is always someone around who you can pass a camera to, like the character attendant or the next person in the queue!

I’d post on cruise critic on the Disney boards. They’ll have lots of advice. Have fun.

We've done P&O and Disney cruises, and our disney on-board bill was way less then P&O. Apart from gratuities, we really didn't spend much. Soft drinks are included on Disney, as is ice cream. There is only one restaurant with a supplement unlike P&O. You can spend on photos and merchandise but its not necessary. Unfortunately Disney does cost twice as much as P&O in the first place!

Unless you want to drink a lot of alcohol, it really doesn’t need to cost much (though you absolutely must pay the gratuities). Depending on where you are going you can do you own port excursions. What route are you thinking of?
