Where to visit. Where to eat to celebrate a milestone birthday. Anything really. Thanks.

For restaurants, I would definitely recommend Vytopna and the Medieval Tavern for the novelty factor. They’re both great fun and serve good food at reasonable prices. Mlynec is amazing and would be my top choice for a very special meal.
Stroll across Charles Bridge. It’s crowded at midday but gorgeous at sunset.
Definitely visit Prague Castle and try to be there for noon for the Changing of the guard. It takes place in the first courtyard and has all the fanfare one could want!
St. Vitus Cathedral is stunning inside. We then went for a strudel and coffee at the Lobkowicz Palace Cafe which has a superb view of the city from the balcony.
Go to the top of the old town tower for the best views.

There was a lovely restaurant on a boat by the Charles Bridge. Sorry, cant remember the name but must be easy to find out.

That's Marinaristorante.cz. We went there for dinner - very nice, with great views. The castle is amazing. Also the tour of the Jewish Quarter - self guided. Wandering around Mala Strana away from the tourist hordes.

And brunch at the Cafe Imperial.

Thanks, good ideas so far

We use the standard continental Europe's type, so two round poles and a hole.

Thanks

I'm not into opera at all but while we were in Prague we decided to go to the Prague State Opera House to watch La Traviata.
It was fantastic, and only 1 euro for a glass of fizz. Was going back a few years though.

What are you generally interested in?

"small Paris" - Petřín tower via funicular and Čertovka boat trip

"Modern&view" - Žižkov Tower (with restaurant in the sky)

"Active&learn something" - Prague self-paced puzzle hunt (walk through interesting places with small tasks & stories on the way, available in English)

Performing art - Laterna Magica (generally language independent, combination of dance and technology)

Real nature in the city - Prokopske udoli (choice of trails in the valley or views from the top).

Micro breweries, churches, gotic art, classical music, jazz music...

I went for my 50th and went to a concert that was held in the palace which is inside the castle on the actual day. Then I had dinner at Kampa Park which was incredible. There is a lot of glass in the restaurant and it beautiful looking at the water and Charles Bridge. I emailed ahead and asked for a good table and they gave me a pudding with a sparkler on top of it.
One of my favourite memories is the evening I bought one of there big cream desert things in a cone and walked through the square with the clock tower and there was a guy playing on a keyboard in the middle of the square. I’m not sure if it was just a sugar rush but it felt magical.
I am going back for new year and have booked Four Seasons hotel.

Another evening we booked a medieval night which was really good fun.

Try to find all the David Cerny sculptures.

The cafe imperial is fabulous. Great food and atmosphere.
We got very tipsy at the hemingway bar and was slightly off the track 8 years ago when we went-hopefully it still has the vibe.
The castle is a must.
Try and see a concert somewhere.... there are loads about in churches and the obceni dum is pretty spectacular inside.
Have a great time.
