Heading to Disneyland paris in January, just 4 adults.

Can't find any information online about parade times, can anyone tell me?

Not staying on site, but happy to hear any other tips and tricks for the parks too!

I have said this on other threads....school trip to that place for an animation conference on the site....awful....heavy security guards....aggressive...search bags etc...nobody looked happy....we spent most time off site....food was awful junk and over priced....consider going some other place...never been to such a miserable place....

BeagleMumma · 16/10/2022 15:15

@earsup

I have been before, but quite a few years ago, so just wanted up to date information.

I can imagine a school trip being not much fun (I'm a teacher) - Sorry you've had that experience but it can't dampen my excitement Smile

I go to Disneyland Paris every few years. Last time was the summer before the pandemic and going again at the end of this month.

Never met a miserable member of staff. Had no issue with bag searches for safety, get the same here when going into theme parks, museums, theatres ….. it’s for our own security. Often took our own food and drink (admittedly not alcohol) into the parks with no problem (the park info says picnics are allowed but no cool boxes, chairs, tables or bulky containers). Food in the park is more expensive than the high street but no more expensive than a theme park in the U.K. and we actually found it to be good quality apart from the fast food place at the entrance to Disney Studios.

its a shame that it rained on you @earsup up ….. I’m shocked that the Disney staff allowed that to happen! I always take waterproof jackets with hoods just in case their magic weather controller fails.

OP I don’t know about parade times - they may put the timetable for January on the website bearer the time.

DO take warm clothes - it can be very windy (if that magic weather control fails)
DO take waterproof jackets - umbrellas are a liability and get in everyone else’s way in queues and watching parades.
DO download the free app - it tells you what queue times are
DO wear comfy shoes - on one particularly busy day when we were zigzagging around for best queue times my fitness tracker said I’d walked about 15 miles.
DO enjoy the magic - don’t over analyse. Have fun. Be aware that it’s Disney so things are going to be more expensive than non Disney.

DON’T try to break the rules. The staff will move you if you are inside the parade route (again…. safety). Disney parks are non smoking (quite rightly IMO) - some people do seem to get away with it but I have seen many people told to put their cigarettes out by staff (there are special smoking areas). Queue jumping is another big no. And DO NOT throw things over the fence! Of course security are going to take a dim view - terrorism is a thing and Disney is very aware that it could be a target.

Just came back the other day from a short trip and, re your last comment, people were smoking like bastards all over the place...

That’s annoying 😠. I hate being around cigarette smoke.

Wrap up. Went for Christmas once. I can honestly say I have never ever been so cold.

hartjanis · 28/10/2022 07:22

A Disneyland ticket is purchased, along with a flight and hotel reservation: there is very little time left before the vacation. Choose the method to go from Paris CDG airport to Disneyland Paris.

There are various methods to go to Paris' famed amusement park. The Magical Shuttle bus, high-speed rail, local cab to Disneyland Paris, electric train, and personal transport are among them.

The bus from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Disneyland Paris operates from 9:00 to 19:45 every day. The movement interval is 45 minutes. Every 10-15 minutes, the high-speed train departs from the railway station in the second terminal of Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. Taxis are available outside each terminal at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport. Parking lots are well-identified with distinctive signage. Airport taxi service can be reserved ahead of time. The fundamental benefit of the transfer is convenience, especially with kids.

Just got back and although we were in difficult circumstances (relationship breakdown, and I got ill whilst there) kids and I thought Disney itself was amazing.

at the moment the main parade is 1730 but with mini ones at other times. Not sure how much it varies with the time of year

Crackery · 28/10/2022 07:33

Also just back. Parade was 17:30 and light show at 9pm. You can download the app and input your date on the calendar to get the timings.

In January it will be very cold. Prepare to be freezing! I mean it seems obvious as it's January but seriously take more layers than you think you'll need, especially for your feet!

And lots of food/snacks because the food really is shit.

LateMumma · 28/10/2022 08:00

We've just got back OP. Download the Disneyland Paris app and it tells you the parade times. Have fun!

Lots of people used to UK weather don't expect how cold it can get on continental Europe, especially when the wind blows from the east.

A think layer of thermal underwear will make a big difference to your comfort. M&S do good ones, I routinely wear heatgen+ long leggings and a short sleeved t-shirt under whatever else I would be wearing and find myself very comfortable even when others shiver

Todo DH a long, long time to come over to the 'dark' side but has now accepted the inevitable. In really code, also drizzly wet weather they make outdoor weather so much more bearable.

Unfortunately because it's January and further away, it won't let me input my date yet, so not showing times.

Also Thankyou everyone for your comments - I've been the beginning of February before so know how cold it can get, I got windburn!

Excited for this time especially as last time I went with a friend and her 3 year old, this time it's all adult friends so we can do all the big rides!
