Tunisia in Dec

My mum just passed away after terminal illness, so we haven’t travelled abroad for over 3 years. My kids are absolutely desperate to go on a plane (and for some sun).

We’d like to be away for Christmas as don’t fancy spending it here. The cheapest place I can find is Tunisia (I guess it’s because it’s cooler than Canaries).

Has anyone been to Tunisia in Dec? Is it warm enough to take advantage of the outdoor hotel pools? Just wondering if I could keep the kids entertained if it was too cold to use the pools.

havent been in december but went to hammamet in january and it was warm enough to walk round in a tee shirt during the day and the beach there is brilliant

I’ve been to Tunisia in November. Wasn’t warm enough for pools and was too windy to sit out. It was also dirty and poor. I wouldn’t go again at any time of year. There’s a reason it’s cheap.

It will be cold for the pools. What about Egypt. It is quite cheap and the Red Sea will be a lot warmer.

Thank you for your thoughts. I’ve been to Tunisia before, in my 20s, in 40oC heat in May. Just a whole different kettle of fish altogether with 3 kids in tow 😅

I've not been in December but having been, I wouldn't go back. I've never felt as uncomfortable and had such a miserable holiday.

Morocco in September was circa mid to late 20s so I think December would be much chillier.

Dubai in Dec was late 20s and that was nice
