Cape town

I’m planning a trip as a lone female to Cape Town! I think for around 7 nights at the end of January, so summer time. I love history (particularly interested in Mandela/apartheid), beaches and wine so seems ideal.
has anybody been and have any recommendations? Any kind of itinerary? I would
like to do the walking route up table top mountain, enjoy the beaches, visit the wine lands, robben island and any other museums. It’s just tricky piecing it all together and I am safety conscious.
how safe is it to go out alone for dinner in the evening?
thank you!

it’s really easy and you can fit a lot into a week. Use Uber to get around, perfectly safe going alone for dinner if you go to popular places like Camps Bay and the Waterfront but wouldn’t suggest walking alone any great distance through CBD or whatever.
You can get Uber to Babylonstoren which is lovely

I agree with Uber (so cheap) or get the open top bus tour. As long as you stick to the tourist areas it’s perfectly safe. The V&A waterfront has lots of gorgeous restaurants to choose from.

Id maybe find a tour to a wine farm. Our friends drove us as is a bit out of CT.

Be careful at ATMs and use ones inside a bank. I didn't and ended up with scammers "helping" me. Luckily I hadn't put my card in the machine and just walked off.

I just used a Revolut card and paid everything on card.

i have just returned!!
it's so lovely you're in fir a treat.
we stayed at the V and A waterfront where you can get the ferry to Robben island . it's very safe there they have lots of security.
we just used taxis to get around and went to the impossibility trendy lovely restaurants in kloof street. Booking is essential.
the restaurants will not let you wait outside they call the taxi and then escort you to the taxi so did feel very safe.
The hop on hop off bus is great to get around.
We also went to johannesburg and did an escorted tour with a local company - i think that would be great in cape town as you learn such a lot and could visit the district 7 museum.
we stayed in a wine lodge and with hindsight i must say i'd much have preferred to stay in Stellenbosch itself. Again did a walking tour there which was excellent. As a lone female Stellenbosch would be lovely lots of lovely restaurants ( I know I keep on about food!)
It would be good if you could go to the cape of good hope the national park. It's stunning and lots of wildlife to see.
Happy to give any other info if it would be helpful

The drive down to the cape is fantastic. Be sure to stop somewhere for fish and chips! Loved Stellenbosch, not just for the wine, but the architecture.
I found the Waterfront a bit touristy/high street, but that was several years ago.

Love Capetown, not been for a while but agree with all of the above. We loved Franschoek and the wine tram where you can go to loads of different vineyards. Camps bay is gorgeous and the beach at Llandudno is lovely. Loads of fab restaurants everywhere. Have a great time!

You could stay at the V&A waterfront and book trips through a company such as Viator.
The Botanical Garden is worth s visit.
