Christmas in New England

I love a cheesy Christmas movie and have been harbouring a dream of spending Christmas in a little US town. I can easily get flights to Boston with my Avios points so thinking Vermont, Maine or New Hampshire. A good chance of snow is a must. Any recommendations? Would be for Christmas 2023. DCs will be 10 and 13.

I can see that you haven’t had any replies to this but think it sounds like a fabulous idea and would love to do something similar so am just bumping it for you.

Try here for the most classic American Christmas! My husband is from Boston, the children will love it. Waterfalls, bears, pancakes and s'mores on the grill. The hotel is a classic with stunning views.

Last time we went - 2018 I think there was no snow. T shirts on Christmas Eve
it came in between Christmas and new year

it is pretty expensive to stay anywhere nice in that period.

We stayed in a helicopter at the winvian one Christmas as well. No snow then either and so sleigh rides were off

I saw you're booking for 2023, I might see you there! 😆

Just be aware 'a bit of snow' in Maine will mean you could be cut off for days or weeks. My Aunt lives in Maine, on the coast, the fire hydrants all have huge poles attached to them (like 6ft tall) and when I asked why she said so they can find them when it snows. It's not the 2" we get here if we're lucky.

Far better to go in the fall, (usually) incredible weather and superb scenery.

@inthemiddlepiggyinthemiddle thanks. Yes, I am familiar with those type of poles. They have them where my mum is from in the Highlands of Scotland. 😊
