EasyJet hand luggage questions

I’ve never flown on easyJet before, and never travelled with hand luggage only, but I’m booked to go away with a group next month and that’s the deal. I’m fine with it - looking forward to a break, actually, as I haven’t had a holiday since 2018 - but I’m a bit confused about making sure I don’t contravene the rules inadvertently.

The liquids one - 10x100ml….how do you take everything you need for a week in that? I’ve got some travel sized shampoo and conditioner, but it doesn’t look enough for shower gel for a week, and what about sun cream? Does that count as a liquid? Can I buy these after security in Gatwick?

Medications - I have a lot, insulin, tablets and eye drops in single-dose capsules. I can see on their website that I can take my insulin pens ok, but do I need to count the eye drops in the liquid total? And do I need a doctor’s certificate for my medication, or will taking a copy of my prescription be enough (it was the last time I flew).

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it, as I don’t want to get to security and be That Person who looks a complete twat in front of everyone. Thanks 🙂

Sorry sorry, major MN crime, I know this is a Zombie Thread ... just thought it might be a useful bump at this time of year.

I haven't flown EasyJet for a few years and didn't remember them being particularly punctilious about the cabin bag size...

... all I can tell you is, that on a full flight to Lisboa yesterday, the flight was delayed BECAUSE of the passengers arguing with the check-in staff at the gate over bag sizes! Grin It was fraught. Many people trying desperately to cram a hard case trolley bag into the smaller of the bag cages they use to check size. They only seemed to be testing the bags that looked like they wouldn't fit (and there were plenty of optimistic or daft passengers trying their luck). Thank god we all had rucksacks which could be squished into the right proportions (and since they are totally FINE with all the Duty Free and other airport purchases people get, I made my son put the lego he'd just bought, along with the receipt, plus about 4 of his paperback books Grin into a carrier bag. That helped).

Next time we opt for easyJet we'll just stump up for Speedy Boarding - hadn't realised at the time of booking that this means you actually get your 'personal item' that most other carriers let you have in addition to your cabin bag.

Easyjet have been like that for a long time re two items (a decade?) although you may have got lucky and not come across gate staff enforcing the rules. Their relatively new size requirement is pretty small and people get caught out on that a lot now too.
