Other things to do nearby Disneyland Paris

Would love my kids age 4 & 2 to get the 'Disney experience'

Thinking they are too young for Florida so considering Disneyland Paris.

Wondering if there's anything to do nearby for young children to make it into more of a week away? Obviously they are too little to get anything out of Paris sightseeing.

There's a sealife centre within a shopping center, pretty nearby

If you have a car, you could go to Compiegne on the way or way back. Huge forest with lots walks /bike routes and you can see where the Armistice was signed. Small historic town with some nice shops and an Imperial Palace. There is a permanent collection of some really old cars (pre WW1).

There is a centre parcs type place nearby called Les Villages Nature, if not staying there you can pay for day passes, it has a pool, farm and park I believe. Sealife centre at Val D Europe shopping centre

We took the DCs to Paris for a short break when they were 7, 4 and 2. We did it the other way round, i.e. we stayed in Paris as the 'main event' and spent one day at Disneyland.

Personally I love city breaks with young children, but you just need to forget about traditional sightseeing and view it through the eyes of your children. We spend loads of times in the parks (there are some fabulous children's playgrounds) and had fun riding the metro and buses, just soaking up the atmosphere really. We did go up the Eiffel Tower which is touristy but fun. We did a fantastic boat trip through a part of Paris I don't know well, which ended up on the Seine. All of the main museums will have special child friendly exhibitions or tours. Honestly there is so much to enjoy so long as you base it (mainly) around the children, go at their pace, and enjoy the novelty of doing fairly day to day things in a different country.

There’s a big shopping centre nearby called Val d’Europe. It’s got a fairly decent aquarium complete with penguins! Last time we went, there was a shuttle service from the Explorers Hotel to and from the complex.
If you go in the summer, Loisirs de Jablines-Annet is a lovely day out.
