Disneyland Paris October half term

We (DH, DS 8, DS nearly 4 and I) have booked to go for 3 nights over October half term. We have early flight there, and late flight back so should get almost 4 days in the parks.

Any advice please? We are staying at the Santa Fe.
Thinking about getting fast track passes for one of the days. Is it worth it?
We have the standard half board dining plan and I have booked our hotel restaurant, Plaza Gardens, and PYM kitchen. Will our full meals be covered or will I need to pay extra?

Any hints and tips welcomed please 🙏

Try the Disneyland Paris Tips for Brits Facebook page, it's full of helpful tips. We are going at the same time and have been before and it's definitely cold so wrap up and be prepared with ponchos is my main tip!
It's a great time of year to go.

I’ve never used the meal plans so can’t advise there.

If you make use of the extra magic hours first thing in a morning then you might not need to buy fast passes. It really depends how busy it is. Be prepared for it to be busy though, Halloween is one of their busiest times and this year every date has been really busy due to people postponing during COVID.

4 days should be plenty! We (pre kids) did all the rides in both parks in 1 (long!) day

Wrap up warm!

Are you there on Nov 1? If so, be warned, it's a French holiday and will be absolutely rammed! Also on Oct 31, the park closes in the evening for the Halloween party (which costs extra). We went a few years ago and the few days before Halloween itself weren't too bad but our last day (Nov 1) was not as much fun because of the crowds.

We fly back on 29th nov.

Was wondering about DS2. He will be nearly 4 but moans about walking too far. It is worth taking a buggy or will it be more hassle than it's worth?

We did Disney Parks back in Easter and I took the double pram for baby and whoever wanted to rest their legs - DDs are 4 and 6. Baby spend a lot of time in the carrier so both girls could go in the pram, especially after day 2.
lots of people.had hired the Disney buggys for children up to age 8.
100% take a buggy.

Take a buggy for the boy. He'll be exhausted

Definitely use the free hours you get with the hotel and look for the tips on what bits of the park open when so you can go straight to some of the ‘big rides’ first and get them done.

There are two ‘alleys’ either side of Main Street as you walk in that are much much quieter so aim to use them depending on where you’re going.

We bought sandwich bags and a cool bag and made some rolls up from the breakfast buffet, took some fruit/yoghurt for snack during the day and then just had dinner later on.

If your 4yr old has Disney costumes/teddies then worth bringing them of you can fit them in. If they are holding a certain toy/wearing a costume the ‘real’ Donald/Goofy etc will make a point of waving at them or coming to see them during the parade. (My two learnt the order of the parade and would fling Peter Pan over their shoulder and grab Donald, then drop him and wave Pinocchio around!)

Comfortable shoes and bring the buggy - good for carrying lunch, teddies, coats etc anyway and there are buggy parks at every ride.

After the first day the parade would be a good time for you to split up and maybe take your oldest on some bigger rides while the other takes the little one to watch the parade again. (Oldest should definitely watch it at least once though)

Fireworks are cool but I wouldn’t worry too much about getting a great spot for them, they’re in the sky after all. We watched them from just by the main gate so we could shoot off back to the hotel first afterwards.

If you’re anything like us then a couple of bottles of red wine for you two to share once the kids are asleep go down well. Ours were too knackered to stay up too late (and we were as well!) but it was nice to have half an hour to take the edge off before going to sleep…

I think that’s everything, have a lovely time! It’s so great watching the kids watching the magic!
