And even in that case, you could have just shown your NHS vaccination certificate and they would’ve waved you through. It’s not the law to have the SpTH QR code ready, hasn’t been for months.

lanbro · 03/09/2022 19:15

I've been through 3 Spanish airports since May, you do not need the passenger locator form anymore. If you are fully vaccinated including booster all you need is your vaccine cert. I've had mine actually scanned once and glanced at twice. No masks apart from on public transport, in fact it's all pretty much normal now, earlier in the year it was masks in the street, disposable gloves in buffets, etc!

Trying to get my head round this for Lanzarote in October. 13 year old was double vaccinated by January. However this expires in 270 days? So will run out by then. Adults boosted and boosters don’t run out. Are we looking at an expensive PCR for a double vaccinated 13 year old? Because he hasn’t had a booster that hasn’t been offered? And I won’t give him quite frankly.

So frustrating they won’t drop these rules. Travelling to France recently was a breeze and Iceland. I’ve not had this faff for over a year!

Age 12-17 don't need a booster to be fully vaccinated.

If you are aged 12 to 17 and have not received the booster, but have received two doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine approved for use by Spain, then at least 14 days must have passed since your last dose, to qualify as fully vaccinated. You continue to qualify as fully vaccinated more than 270 days after your last dose and do not need to show proof of having received a booster to travel

dementedpixie · 03/09/2022 19:22

And unvaccinated/not fully vaccinated people can do LFT or PCR before travel although it's not required for under 18s who have had 2 doses

Maybe the rules have recently changed but I was asked by British airways to fill the Spanish online form on the 6th august and when I landed in madrid everyone needed to have the QR code scanned. Maybe rules got relaxed very recently or Canary Islands rules are relaxed? Dunno.

It wasn't required when we went to Lanzarote in June

Delatron · 03/09/2022 19:51

Thanks all. It’s very confusing.

So I think, unless the rules change - 12 year old unvaccinated needs LFT but can do cheap one as long as verified.
Double vaccinated 13 year old is considered fully vaccinated…
Why are they persisting with these nonsensical rules when other countries dropped them ages ago. Annoying!

We arrived in Tenerife this week and all they needed was the QR code you get in tbe NHS app - and they weren't very interested in looking closely at that either (woman waved us through much like the ticket inspectors on the tube at rush hour).

Arriving in Lanzarote in April this year, we didn't have the special Spanish app thing and it was a massive pain in the arse. I guess they're more relaxed now.

cannotfindanickname · 04/09/2022 22:42

Just back from Lanzarote with my partner and two teenagers, all fully vaccinated but they didn't check anything.

LookDontTeuch · 08/09/2022 14:04

Just to check (as my head is exploding with going around in circles on NHS apps, tui website, spanish govt!)...

Although fully-vaccinated, our boosters will have been more than 270 days before travel therefore we are not fully vaccinated according to spanish rules?

We have had COVID but in July/August this year after the requirement for PCR's or any mandatory testing beyond home LFTs so no proof of recovery.

Do we need the health form? And do we need to book antigen tests in order to complete the form? (or even just to get through the airport).

Appreciate everyone's advice!

Delatron · 08/09/2022 14:13

Boosters don’t have an expiry as far as I’m aware.

No health forms to fill in.

dementedpixie · 08/09/2022 14:24

Boosters don't have an expiry date
No forms required

dementedpixie · 08/09/2022 14:26

If you have received a booster, you are considered fully vaccinated for entry into Spain. As soon as you receive your booster, you are considered fully vaccinated with immediate effect. There is currently no expiry date for booster jabs.

Ahaaaaaaa! The penny drops 😂

Thank you for that very reassuring clarification! Only one teen not had his booster but he's booked for next week.

Covid vaccination certificate to Canaries?
Delatron · 14/10/2022 15:07

I think it needs to be 24 hours before you land. And then you need to take in to account the time difference. But this was in Summer so it may have changed. I remember trying to work back from time of landing - and worrying if there was a delay! But I think it’s more relaxed these days.

Delatron · 14/10/2022 15:07

It does say departure on that government link to be fair.

Aysh86 · 14/10/2022 16:51

This is written just underneath which says 24 hours before entry to Spain!
I actually am going nuts right now!

Why can it be clearer ?!

Covid vaccination certificate to Canaries?
speakout · 14/10/2022 18:52

I have just returned from a holiday in the Canaries- I wasn't asked for a Covid vaccination certificate at any point- departure or arrival in both directions.
No one was being checked at all.

I’m going to Lanzarote next week. We need to test the 12 year old. I will do the test but it’s good to hear they are being more relaxed. It’s frustrating when every other country I’ve travelled to recently has dropped the requirements.

Delatron · 15/10/2022 08:55

But to be on the safe side I am going to work out what time we land and go back 24 hours from then in English time and add a buffer for delay. Just in case we get someone strict.

Delatron · 22/10/2022 16:53

Just an update - we were asked for nothing coming in to Lanzarote. I think they just need to drop the requirements if they aren’t going to enforce them. Wasted time on a test/uploading and waiting for certificate yesterday.

inthemiddlepiggyinthemiddle · 22/10/2022 17:08

Just come back from Spain (on Monday) - had everything with us, covid jab proof, proof of finances etc, no one looked at anything except our passports.

Wouldn't risk it though, you can guarantee whatever you haven't got they'll want...

Delatron · 23/10/2022 07:57

Yes I wouldn’t risk it. It’s just mildly annoying spending all the time and money doing the tests and having everything ready and none of it’s checked. Either they care about it or should drop the requirements.

speakout · 23/10/2022 08:21

Spain Covid regulations changed on Friday- no test or certification required.

Hi !
We flew on Tuesday so the rules hadn't changed ... but they didn't even check the results annoyingly! Just waved us through ! :)
