Anyone been to Dubrovnik recently?

DH and I are going for a long weekend mid September. Very excited!
We've hired a car because it cost very little. I know we shouldn't use it to get to centre of Dubrovnik but thought we'd have a bit of a drive one of the days along the coast as we're staying at Lapad.

Should I be getting Croatian Kuna or do most places take cards? any restaurants people can recommend or things to do. I went with friends a few years ago, but wasn't feeling 100% so spent most of my time by the pool.

I thought I should come back and update after our trip.

We walked the walls on the first afternoon and had dinner in an unremarkable restaurant. The Dubrovnik pass is pretty good if you're planning on doing the walls as the 3 day one costs 300 kuna and includes 6 bus tickets and other free entries and discounts and the walls alone are 250 kuna.

Second day we relaxed in the morning- hotel was beside the beach - then did a Game of Thrones walking tour, then cable car to the Panorama restaurant which was lovely.

Last day on the recommendation of the hotel concierge we did the 15 mins boat trip to Lokrum ( discount with Dubrovnik pass) and spent a lovely few hours there. Wer ate dinner at a restaurant that looked nice but was pretty pricey and had poor service. I have to say apart from the Panorama I felt that we were a bit unlucky with restaurants and prices were generally high.

Everywhere takes kuna and in fact we got a discount on our restaurant meal by paying in cash. They are stopping using it in January so don't keep any.

It was a great visit and DH is very taken with Croatia in general so we will be back.

Oh we didn't do any canoeing as it was pretty windy when we were there.
