Taking medication through security

Travelling hand luggage only for the first time - need to take my HRT gel through security but obviously this won’t comply with 100ml liquid limit. What do I need to do? How does it work - do I need to bring it to the attention of the staff before bags going through the scanner? Any insight welcome!

Provided what you are taking is legal/not restricted in the country you are travelling to then you will be fine. I travelled with large quantities of codiene last month, just had prescription in bag with meds, I did out it in the tray separately but noone checked. I think the letter is about being able to prove it is for personal use - which your prescription will confirm anyway as it and meds labels give quantities.

Fits in the bag at LGW. Literally Assuming you remove it from the box? Not sure where you're flying from or how recently you've flown but the bags are slightly bigger now with a handle - not the sandwich bags of old.

I flew last week with Oestrogel, put it in a separate bag to my other liquids and it was fine. The bottle is really big but the contents are less than 100ml apparently.

I put mine n the ox in the clear bag, it stuck out of the top but it was fine
