Holiday ideas with baby?

We have a £400 EasyJet voucher that needs to be used by September, hopefully to book any flights currently on sale. We have a 6 week old baby at the moment and the prospect of going away feeds quite daunting. Within the first year or so when would be the best time to go on holiday with a baby and any suggestions as to where on the EasyJet network? Pre baby we usually like the Greek Islands or Croatia for summer holidays and also like city breaks, hiking, visiting historic sites etc. Usually we travel independently and eat out while away although we are prepared to change our travel style if that won’t work with a baby. Any tips on which holidays you’ve enjoyed most with a baby would be appreciated! I guess a relaxing option might be best for a first family holiday?

Go when they’re immobile (generally 6 months or less). They just eat, sleep and coo at that age, and couldn't care less where they are. But they do spend a lot of time indoors (eating and sleeping) so make sure wherever you go has a nice balcony or somewhere you can sit out and still hear her/him. My other advice would be to go somewhere you can trust that you'll find what you need - milk, nappies etc.

I'd go all inclusive, small babies are easy to travel with. As PP said make sure you request ground floor or with a balcony so you can still sit outsixe qhile baby naps. We did a hotel with little apartment rooms with swim up rooms, took the baby monitor and meant baby could sleep in cot in the cool room and we couls sit out on our sun loungers/swim etc so still got our holiday. Took a stroller that laid flat so baby could nap in there as well in the shade

I think around 4-7 months is ideal, when they're not mobile, but don't need any/much food yet. A good sling would be my main suggestion. Depending on where you're going you'll need to bring your car seat or rent a decent one. You could definitely still sightsee with a baby that age in a sling.

I would go for an apartment or villa with a small child, not a resort.

DD was not only an early riser, 7pm was a lie in, but she hated her pram in the evening. So no sleeping while we ate or had a drink/walked around in the evening.

We preferred self catering as it meant we had enough space, could go by her "time table" and knew we had peaceful time for food and relaxing while she slept in a proper cot. We went out with the pram and/or sling, had lunch and just got bread and cold cuts for dinner or the odd take away.

We did all kind of sight seeing with a baby.

It’s the same as going into town for the day. Babes in arms are a doddle to travel with.
