95 minutes between flights - is that enough?

Forgive me, this feels like a stupid question, but I haven't flown for eons, especially not where we have connecting flights
going to NY in October and fly down from Scotland to Heathrow - there's 95 minutes between the two flights
all with same carrier, so we should be able to check bags through
and no need to change terminals - we come into terminal 5 and then depart from there
is this ok? should I be looking at getting an earlier flight down? or am I over stressing??

Heathrow have limited flights this summer to avoid big issues regarding checking in and baggage. If you are booking for the future, I’m assuming BA are back to selling tickets irrespective of airport staffing.

You are overthinking this and giving yourself stress. If BA sell it as a through flight you are totally fine - if your Scottish leg is delayed and you miss your long haul flight it's on them to sort it out. You aren't buying two legs - it is one booking. BA won't sell it if it is less than the T5 min.

If you are concerned and it's going to worry you just book the earlier Edinburgh shuttle.

Depending on the age of your DC, your fellow travellers might not be happy to babysit your DC!!

When did the OP say she'd dump her kids on fellow travellers?

If kids are under 12 they will be sat with or near her, by law. If over 12, the kids can certainly behave themselves for the 7 hours that it takes to cross the Atlantic. It's not a big deal.

my DD is 11 - it's pretty much guaranteed she'll spend most of the flight with her headphones in, watching her iPad
it's DH and his inane chit chat I want a break from. I get stressed travelling, and his crap chat doesn't soothe me Grin
