Four days before we were due to go on holiday, our return flight was cancelled by Easyjet. We booked through Thomas Cook as a package deal.
Thomas Cook offered to move our Easyjet flights to depart from Manchester rather than Newcastle but wouldn't cover additional expenses like rebooking airport parking, hotel night before, petrol.
The second option was to cancel Easyjet flights and rebook with Ryan Air but for an additional cost of £300ish as flights gone up, baggage charges.
The third option was to extend our stay by two days which cost £400ish extra for accommodation but at least we got something for the extra money. We went with this option. We also had to extend our parking and travel insurance for two days.
Well done if you've followed so far!
Can anyone offer any guidance as to whether we can claim any of the money back? Reading Easyjet and holiday insurance T&Cs we're confused as Easyjet did move our flights despite the situation being less than ideal. Not sure whether to pursue with Thomas Cook (who seem like a glorified middle man), Easyjet or travel insurance. Any wisdom here?!
