B&B more expensive than All Inclusive

Looking to book a last minute holiday to Greece or Turkey but always been All Inclusive. We aren't big drinkers ie 2 gins at night and may be a beer during the day for me and hubby has a couple of beers in the evening. We have a 14yr old son. On trying to evaluate what eating out costs each day, it seems B&B works out the same as All Inc, would you agree? What have you found this year in either of these countries?

Depends on the standard of accommodation. I would be surprised considering how much people say all inclusive has cost them.

Op it depends entirely on the accommodation and standard 😐

Perhaps you are right that B&B works out better value. I haven’t been to either of these places post COVID. One thing I would bear in mind is that teenagers usually eat a lot. If your son needs big meals / snacks AI caters for that fairly well. Or I guess you could stock up on a few non-perishable snacks from the supermarket so there is always something to hand for him (assuming he is a big eater).

I think that B&B and eating out works out about the same price as mid range buffet AI, but is a much nicer experience.

I don't like buffets for lunch and dinner as I want to have food brought to me at an outside table and we like to get out and about a fair bit, so wouldn't want to eat in the hotel, but also wouldn't want to pay for AI and pay for meals out on top.

What we normally do is SC or B&B in an apartment where we at least get a kitchenette and fridge and then eat out once or sometimes twice a day at a restaurant, make breakfast in the apartment if we are SC and stock up on drinks, snacks and easy food like bread, olives, cheese, crisps, ham etc.

Each day we'll have a substantial breakfast in the accommodation maybe around 9 am or so and either lunch out mid afternoon and maybe just drinks and snacks/tapas out in the evening, or maybe on the terrace or we'll just have a snack or ice cream lunch and then go out for dinner in the evening.

Eating kit in Turkey is much cheaper than Greece so you need to take that in consideration too.

Depends what you mean by B&B to make a comparison.
A simple pension, or 5* hotel ?
And how luxurious is the AI accommodation?

Really depends on the standard to be honest. Often a B&B can be more expensive than an AI resort as it’s more like an exclusive boutique hotel with Michelin chefs doing a set chefs choice (surprise) evening dinner. Many AI resorts can feel institutional with buffet meals where you queue up like cattle to try and scrape the last of the scrambled eggs from a tray and spend your days fighting over limited sunbeds and shade while hoping fellow “guests” don’t get too drunk and annoying.
