Car seat in France

Going to Disney Paris with 2 DC who will be 5 and 3 (almost 4 though). Struggling to decide about car seats. Older DC is 22kg so I think they can go into the bubble bum booster (it's just for one short taxi ride on arrival and departure). Younger DC is almost 18kg and so I'm not sure what to do about them. I am trying to find out if I can hire a seat but otherwise wondering should I take the bubble bum as a back up? DC is still rear facing here but I can't take their rear facing seat and I'm struggling to find an easy seat to take with us.

I did wonder about taking a high back booster for younger DC - is that safer than the bubble bum? Really don't know what to do!

If you hire car then they will give you a seat that meets the legal requirements in France, which are fairly strict. It costs a bit extra but saves you hauling about a car seat.

We’ve just done it and it was seamless. Hope this helps.

Trunki Boostapak does from 15kg

I would always recommend taking your own seat over hiring. You have no clue how the hire seats are looked after or if they have been involved in accidents previously.

We are getting a private transfer from the airport and I have tried to arrange a car seat through the travel company but don't have confirmation yet that they can provide this. Will have a look at the trunki option - does her age matter with this or is it alright as she's above the 15kg? I just keep reading conflicting advice about whether it's age or weight based!

It's weight based. The recommended age is 4+ but this is based on the average weight for that age.

Boostapak is usually recommended over a Bubblebum as it has a better seatbelt position. It is larger though so that needs to be taken into account for your luggage.

The Trunki is a bit better than the bubble bum. A high backed booster would be better still. All three are legal to use from 15kg.
