Taking food abroad for fussy eating children!

Am I right in thinking that now we’ve left the EU, we can’t take animal/dairy products into EU countries?

Am I still ok with things like Marmite (vegetarian)? Biscuits (bourbons?!), microwave rice?!

The restriction is on anything containing milk or animal products including gelatine. This is shown on gov.uk. This would mean no haribo, chocolate, fudge, bovril etc. They may not check but if they do you could have to pay a fine and have the food confiscated. You can take food for on the plane but eat it onboard or dispose of any leftovers on the flight. You can see this on gov.uk, search for the country you're travelling to and under the heading Local Laws and Customs of EU countries it will say:

"You cannot take meat, milk or products containing them into EU countries. There are some exceptions for medical reasons, for example certain amounts of powdered infant milk, infant food, or pet food required for medical reasons. Check the rules about taking food and drink into the EU on the European Commission website."

Please look at official sources of information rather than rely on anecdotes.

Specific biscuits (containing chocolate) and breakfast cereal (containing nuts/milk/honey) are the things that would be the most useful to bring with us.

Which brands and where are you travelling to?

there are plenty of MNers all over and they can advise on what’s available

literally nobody will rumble or out you for wanting to know if there are Honey nut cheerios etc for example.

You asked about Bourbons - they don’t contain milk, so they’re fine.
