February half term canaries?

Hi, I have been saving for sometime now to take 2 adults 2 children, aged 9 and 5 on holiday in February 2023 half term.
I have decided on the Canaries. I have found somewhere I like in lanzarote.

I am a bit concerned on the weather. Some say it may be too cold and windy for the children to enjoy the pool. The main activity would be sitting by a pool and children playing in pool.

Anyone been in February who can advise me?

Thank you

I’m looking for sun in February half term and my husband mentioned Tenerife. I did a bit of research and yep temp seems to be 18-20 degrees. We have two young children who will be 7 and 5 who will want to be in the pool and playing on the beach.

not a chance in Tenerife. Too bloody cold. Also I was shocked at how expensive Tenerife seemed to be - between £3-4K. I’m not paying £4K for 20 degrees!!!

South Tenerife is lovely in Jan/Feb. We went this year and it was mid 20s. Spent a lot of time in the pool.

I would definitely look at Gran Canaria , Puerto Rico ,Puerto Mogan ,Amadores area . Been in January a few times and February half term this year . Weather was perfect 22 / 26 degrees. Think it is known to be the warmer of the Canary Islands . Stayed at the Eden Apartments, heated pool and perfect for children .

Been to Tenerife twice Feb half term and it’s been lovely, certainly warm enough for sunbathing and kids didn’t complain about the pool. Never needed jackets or anything either. Worth a punt

Quite chilly. Ours wore shortie wetsuits in the pool.

Ditto PP's experience of Lanzarote in February. We had cloud and 18 degrees most days. I had taken clothes for warmer weather and my feet were freezing. We needed to use the heater in the apartment every evening.

We were in Costa Teguise which was very windy, and not particularly interesting.

We’ve been to Tenerife in February quite a few times. I would chose this island over the other canaries in Feb as it’s much less windy. I’ve been to the other islands but wouldn’t go in February I’m actually in Tenerife now and was sat next to someone on the plane who lives in Tenerife. She said it’s been quite cool in February the last couple of years (we’ve not travelled due to covid). It’s hit and miss but we’ve always been lucky with the weather. We’ve stayed at Iberostar hotels (there’s a few in Tenerife) and they have heated pools. We take wetsuits to Siam park (brilliant water park in Costa adeje,Tenerife)

I would be careful going in February, it would be hit and miss.

From reading these posts I think you've found the reason why it's more reasonably priced! Most of the traditional get-aways are going to be colder in Feb because there's been little (winter) sun to warm things up. Apart from Tenerife I think

i was in tenerife in feb a few years back, was mid 20s so warm enough for sunbathing but the pool at the hotel was freezing but did warm up slightly during the day
