Mamas - I need your help please.

we have our first hol this year and our LG will be 10 months.
can you pls tell me your holiday essentials that we should be taking?

also - is there anything you’ve bought for holiday that you needed but wouldn’t use at home?

TIA x

Depending on your accommodation, especially if it only has a shower... blow up baby bath or little paddling pool.

This is a great shout - thank you!

Well, are you going somewhere hot?

For me, a sling was helpful at this age but I couldn't wear it in very hot climates. A cheap buggy with a shade, that reclines plenty so your little one can basically lie down and sleep.

Id always take enough nappies for the whole trip unless we are fully self catering in the UK.

A sippy cup, plastic spoons and a couple of bowls with lids. A few packs of baby crispy and melty fruit things, for emergencies.

Good quality moisturising cream, and cotton clothes (because our kids' dry skin flares up when hot and sweaty).

Far fewer clothes than you think you'll need! In a hot place especially. Dont prioritise gorgeous outfits.

Yes somewhere hot …. Good point!

these are great tips, thank you 🙏

Unless it's a deprived area they'll have nappies etc, but might not have the formula your child is used to.
a really lightweight folding buggy was a life saver. One of those attachable umbrellas.
Our kids pretty much just had nappies on with a t shirt it was so hot, and one of those sunblock swim suit things when in the pool.
Baby slept in travel cot which luckily we borrowed locally.
Hire cars have crap boosters/car seats so bring your own.
Also good was a portable booster that straps on to a dining chair - we had a plastic one but I've seen inflatable ones too. You'll need that for eating out.
My son's eczema cleared right up in the dry heat and sun, but sun block can be expensive abroad so bring some.
If you are staying in a villa then those plug in mosquito deterrents are absolutely essential!

The plug in mosquito killers, not the deterrents, Mosqui Go is one brand I know of, and it kills them.
Take Sudocrem, it's suitable for a huge range of things!
Take some flannels if you are going somewhere hot and sealable food bags. They are great when wet and then stored in the fridge for cooling down.
Don't get a tent for the beach abroad, you'll literally cook in it.
Don't forget to pack a small suncream or mosquito repellent in your hand luggage depending on what time of day you land.
