France and recovery from Covid

I have Covid. I’m going to France at the beginning of September and am confused by their guidelines on a certificate of recovery. The rest can’t be self administered apparently so what so they need? Has anyone had experience of this. My doctor will give me a certificate for £34 and I see there are lots of companies that offer them. They want to see a photo of your test. However the test is a lateral flow I did myself.

Help! The Covid helpline is useless.
I haven’t had the booster so am not considered fully vaccinated.

From 1st August, tomorrow, there are no vaccination or testing requirements for entering France. Saw it on the Eurostar site yesterday. Apparently the change was agreed a few days ago. If you Google you'll find mention of it, but govt sites may not have been updated yet.

Yippee!!! Thanks so much for this.

Just about to post it 🙂 There's also a news item on schengenvisainfo.com which says the testing requirement could be reinstated, but French authorities have agreed that would only happen if the covid situation there worsened. Bit odd that it doesn't seem to have made the news more widely, though, particularly with so many people travelling over the summer. Hope there's not a catch somewhere...

Especially when it starts tomorrow!

Quite... some people are talking about it on Twitter and so on. Earlier Eurotunnel were still referring people to the French government site which hasn't been updated, when asked about the change. Glad I'm not travelling till September.

KatharineofAragon · 01/08/2022 12:11

Still no update to the official sites, so I am wondering if Eurostar have got it wrong?

it’s definitely been dropped.

Good to see the change is starting to appear on official sites.

Thanks

Just seen that travel guru Simon Calder has written about the change in The Independent today, so the news is definitely spreading 🙂

Great news... thanks for sharing..

We traveled over Sunday morning 3am via channel tunnel. No one checked us.

xyzandabc · 01/08/2022 22:05

Sorry I don't know the answer to your specific question. But I did travel on Eurotunnel this morning, made sure that we all had our covid passes available on our phones etc. No one checked them at all.

Friend travelled last weekend, also Eurotunnel and only realised the night before that their preteen needed a negative lft due to not being double jabbed and no proof of recovery. Was a right pain to sort out last minute, but they did it. Then, again, no one asked for it at all, what a waste of their time.

Interesting to see here that requirements have been lifted. I wasn't aware of that and travelled today.

Typical French bureaucracy!!

So can I just ask if there are any requirements to enter France or can I just turn up with my passport? We travel in 2 weeks, both fully vaccinated. Thanks
