DO NOT GO! what a f~~cking shambles! went today and am traumatised! its on 6 floors, you park on the 2nd and shop on the 6th and 5th - you have to use lifts it you have a baby in pushchair - but i dont do lifts! they have a moving ecalator from floor 5 to 3 but you cant take a pushchair on there - someone at the top doesnt let you on - you must use the lift she says! when the lifts arrive everyone surges with their trolleys, pushcahirs etc! - madness then you have to pay £1.50 to park and another £1.00 extra for each hour unless you spend £30.00 in store! all the staff are unhelpful - ok i know they probably new but they dont have to be ignorant aswell! grrrrrrrrrrr get me wine!!

I went on Wed evining with DH (no Dc's). Luckily it was empty, but I totally agree with everything you've said.

I tried the Milton Keynes one, and It wasn't too bad, but I'd have never found it without SatNav!

I thought it was great - nice and quiet. The only down side is that it is right on the ring road. And in Coventry. But better than traipsing all the way to Brum.

I live in Coventry, and have been to Ikea once. I haven't visited any of their other stores, so have nothing to compare it to.

I agree that the whole store layout/lift thing is chaotic. My dd has mobility problems, and uses a large buggy. The tuts and disapproving stares that I got for daring to get into the lift with her were pretty shocking. Those complaining the loudest were clearly not local people. How rude

I found the staff friendly and helpful on the day we went, apart from one vigilante security guard that seemed to think parent with buggy = shoplifter. Unfortunately, most large stores have at least one of these

I live in Coventry too and have not gone to this Ikea out of principle. It is situated in a stupid place imo. And lots of other reasons too which I can't go into now - dd2 waking up.

After going all the way to Milton Keynes or Brum I am pleased to have Ikea in Cov at last!
It is no more chaotic than the other two - on different floors and yes you always have to put the buggy in the lift.
I agree it is cheeky to ask for car parking charges but what do you expect in the middle of the city - free parking? It would only be used by other people and leave us Ikea shoppers no spaces!
I went to the refunds dept and the staff were nice and helpful - as they were elsewhere in store.
Let the initial interest wear off and it will settle down I am sure - remember it is a confusing concept if you havent been before.
PS no I dont work for them!
