One day in Paris with kids - recommendations?

Eventually managed to escape from the hell that was a channel crossing this weekend and now, rather exhausted, have one day to spend in Paris

kids have never been before. Age 4-10yo. Any recommendations?

we will go and see the Eiffel Tower but not sure it’s worth dragging everyone in and to the top (have had enough of queuing).

also, any recommendation for places that are tolerant of kids for lunch. Our kids are a bit overtired and on edge after the journey so I don’t think they will necessarily be perfectly behaved (though well
enough!). Don’t want to feel uncomfortable if that makes sense!

We went over Easter to France and ended up spending a day in Paris. I have three kids aged 3-12. I won’t be repeating it in a hurry! But my kids are massive moaners…. Hopefully yours are not :-)
We got off at CDG Etoile and walked down the Champs Elysées then caught the metro to the Latin q with a view to going on a bateau mouche but the times didn’t suit so we had lunch in a nice little creperie in St Germain des Près (creperie des Arts…. But equally there are loads of touristy restaurants around there that you would be fine with kids in). We then went to Sacre Couer and walked up there and took a few pics before having a drink in a bar and then going back home. Overall we didn’t “do” any tourist attractions. Just walked around and got the metro and took in a few sights.
There is an article in the Sunday Times today about what to do in Paris with kids.

I expect there will be quite a lot of moaning! I think we will just have a wander. Want to tick off the big ones like Eiffel Tower but maybe it’s ok to not have too much of a plan apart from that…

like the idea of creperie for lunch! —although my children will reject any savoury crepes in favour of Nutella / honey / syrup etc—

Really lovely place is https://www.roamthegnome.com/best-gardens-in-paris-jardin-du-luxembourg/ Luxembourg Gardens and just buy picnic bits from a bakery. They can let off some steam in the playground and even push a wooden boat on the lake. I'd then catch a boat where you can go past the sites including Eiffel Tour - the queues are probably going to be too unbearable to go up.

Why don't you take a boat trip along the Seine?
You take in so many of the sights and it is a lovely way to get a feel for the city. 'Bateaux Mouches' (currently every 45 mins from the dock at the 'Pont De l'Alma') are the boats the French 'out of towner's' use on their first visit to Paris.
Paris is very hot and sticky at the moment.
Loved by children and adults alike.
I would highly recommend it.

This creperie for a picnic in Jardin du Luxembourg

Le Fournil

Or there is burger King on the corner which is where all the French students by picnic for in the park and might save moans. French burger King does great flavours with raclette cheese so you can pretend it's part of the experience!

Then hire a sailing boat to play in the fountain in the Parc
