Has anyone stayed at Villages Nature Paris?

Hello,

I just wondered if anyone had stayed at the Villages Nature® Paris centre parks and if so which accommodation you went for?

I was going to book the VIP apartment, Premium apartment or Comfort Cottage and wondered if anyone had any experience?

Thank you!

There is a fb group called Center Parcs Europe for Brits. You will get lots of help and advice there on the different villages and accommodation.

We have not yet visited the EU villages but plan to within in the next couple of years so joined the group to find out more. People are extremely friendly and helpful

We went and stayed in comfort. It was basic but fine as a base which is all we wanted it for.

Thanks both!

I haven't been but heard they don't have any air con, so that put me off.

Looking at this for next year . Is it nice?

We went as part of a Disney package which gave us 2 days in the park. We stayed in a VIP apartment. It was great, we loved it. It is adjacent to Disney - not walking distance but a very short drive.

When booking with Disney the options are a premium or a VIP apartment, you can't book a chalet. The benefits are the allocated Disney apartments are very central and it generally works out better value with the park tickets. If I wasn't booking through Disney I'd probably choose one of the cabins/chalets just as they are more child friendly. The VIP apartment is over 2 floors with lots of stairs and a balcony etc. We found it a little tricky with our toddler at the time.

The centre parcs itself was great - the swimming pool was amazing so we went to that every day for ages. Quite nice restaurants and shops and things. We didn't try any activities.

We'd love to go back - for us it was an easy holiday with little ones to get a taste of Disneyland with a short flight and staying on a family friendly resort without being in a Disney hotel.

Thanks for this! Very helpful! We'll have a 1 year old so might go for the one floor one! Saves me manning the stairs all week haha

We're going out of summer so that won't be a problem!

This place popped up when I was searching for Paris stays and it looks great in the photos; I almost booked.

Then I read the latest reviews and I’ve hesitated. Has anyone been very recently?

We went last week of August. We have an annual pass for Disney so this worked out great as we had some park days and some chill in VN days. We loved the aqualagon and the farm - the restaurant was great too. Indoor play area amazing.
We had the VIP apartment which I gave a quick hoover and went around with a dettol wipe when we arrived and after that it was absolutely fine. it’s not exactly a 5* luxury resort but we enjoyed it enough to rebook before the Disney pass runs out next year!

Hi we went for 8 days in May youngest is 3 y.o. We booked accommodation direct with VN and then Disney separate. That still let us park for free at Disney which is a big saving (you can use the park bus, but so much easier to drive when little ones are exhausted).

We had a 2 bed ground floor VIP apartment in block 3901-3933 which is right on the lake.

  • that's a good location for the woodland play area and a short walk only to the indoor play/farm which we liked
  • accommodation was large and clean enough for our standards
  • combi microwave in the kitchen was excellent but dishwasher seemed useless
  • there is no laundry airer except a tiny inadequate thing in the bathroom. Luckily I always take string for this eventuality and rigged up a washing line on the deck.
  • very surprised (and annoyed!) our decking area was completely open so little ones could easily run off if you opened the sliding door; also no inside lock or chain on the apartment door
-.lake view is pointless if you are on ground floor as the reeds grow up so high all the kids see is a thicket
  • ducks and seagulls on the lake make a racket at night which kept me awake (although not DH so perhaps just me being sensitive)

Overall comments: if you only have a baby with you then you'll have a pram but if you have older kids too, try and take the kids scooters. They are a godsend for zipping around. It is very flat in the park except the slope up to the fantastic swimming pool (we swam every day except Disney days).

The shop is not cheap but our problem was the queues were awfully long especially just before dinner time. The onsite bakery is good but expensive. We went to a nearby supermarket for supplies, and it was well worth investing that time. The Vapiano in VN was just ok - I've been to really good ones and this was a bit disappointing. However we loved the crepes place.

I noted your update about going out of season and this is a really good thing - check it isnt a French holiday while you are there though as we found still a LOT of day guests in the pool at the weekend. Still loads of room to swim but you'll have virtually no queue for the slides on the quieter weekdays.

I read a lot of the recent bad and good reviews on Trip Advisor. A few overall comments: European centre parks are not identical to the UK - much cheaper and the activities timetable can be limited. Adjust your expectations and all is fine. I didn't see any rats or evidence of rats. Our apartment had been refurbished and it was in lovely condition.

The wider park area is allowed to be wild, it isn't manicured (extreme contract with neighbouring Disney where I saw plastic flowers attached to real plants!). The animals on the farm appeared to be well cared for which was heartening. It's on a huge lack within a woodland area so... insects, birds and I suppose rodents although i didnt see any.

I did see a piece of glass by the bins, which was not cleared up quickly. Guess what next time I went I put it in the bin.

With experience of European centre parks under our belts, we planned to drive to VN, arrive in the afternoon and swim before our apartment became available in the afternoon. So we had our swim kits in a separate bag ready in the car. Checkin was very easy. At 4pm the lock mechanism on the door shows a green light and the wrist-watch doorkey fobs will allow you access to the accommodation. Pretty much everyone park right outside their accommodation to unload.

We didn't have any need to contact customer services, use the laundry (I washed by hand in the apartment), or use the left luggage area, or use the bus. So I think we were lucky bass on the reviews i read. Note the bus I believe is a regular bus company it isnt a Disney or VN bus, so the rudeness of the driver not really VN's fault. We only did a few paid activities (best was a brilliant woodland high ropes area with a choice of courses you could choose your level of difficulty) and had no problem organising it, the staff supervising were very helpful, careful and kind.

I read a comment there is "nothing to do with under 3s" which is weird. My 3 yo loved the farm (free), indoor play (free), and playground in the woods with a big sunny sandpit adjacent (free). Not to mention the huge swimming pool (free). He also loved simply scooting all over the park. I'm not sure what else you want for a little one. We didnt expect to dump him in a kids club so didnt even research if it was a possibility.

We also planned to shop at Auchan not Franprix. Only an idiot complains about prices in a Centre parks onsite shop, they are notorious! We were disappointed by Vapiano with it's crazy long queue but found restaurants outside VN were good for an occasional big meal out and just self-catered our other meals. I know it seems mad to go offsite for restaurants, but we had our car and it was just a short drive.

Overall I would not hesitate to return, but I wouldn't go in the summer holidays because of heat and the crush of people I expect you'd find... with the park fairly quiet the maintenance staff were keeping on top of things nicely it seems.

Last thing to say: we had two toilet rolls, one for each toilet in our apartment. Depending on how much time you are in the apartment you may need to take a spare.
