Hi people in my phone,

Going on holiday on 1st for 7 nights. In a lodge type thing. Want to do a click and collect order for day we arrive. Can't think of anything to put on it apart from cider and Apple juice, so the heat must be addling much mind.

What would you order please? Ta

What do you like to eat?

Probably should have mentioned the 4 and 5 year old plain eaters 😂
I'm pretty much veggie (mostly) and hubby is meat eater. I'm not so fussed about loads of dinners and we'll eat out a few times or a takeaway. More breakfasts, lunches, snacks, etc.

I've so far written down juices, pastries, bread, cereal and coleslaw. 😂 think I maybe tired

Some picnic lunches for beach days and bike rides. Cafe or. Takeaway if we are out full day. Maybe I'll get some salad bits and quiches etc.
Cheese and ham

I dont think I'll cook very night. I'd like to not anyway

Are you taking essentials or buying everything?

Toilet roll, washing up liquid, cleaning products, tea, coffee, milk, oil for cooking, salt & pepper etc (I tend to take this kind of stuff as it doesn't all get used up)

Breakfast:
Cereals
Frozen pastries you pop in the oven
Butter
Bread
Fruit
Eggs
Pancake mix (I don't mind cheating on holiday)

Decide how much you're eating out and then plans the remaining meals...E.g meats for BBQ, salad stuff, mayonnaise, bread rolls, sandwich fillings, crisps, frozen chips, ice lollies...

Lalalaleeloo · 19/07/2022 21:58

Milk
Eggs for breakfast
Butter
Sandwich fillings - cheese, tomatoes, mayonnaise, cooked sliced meat
Snacks - bananas, crisps, oranges
Pasta with either passata or cheese for a quick easy meal one night

Attictroll · 19/07/2022 21:59

Cheese
Tomato's
One baguette then find nice bread locally
Crisps
Pasta
Jar of sauce
Juices box's for picnics
Yoghurt

reluctantbrit · 20/07/2022 07:18

Whatever you normally eat for breakfast
Milk
Tea/Coffee
Biscuits
usual snacks or something different
Sandwich filling for picnic lunch
Bread
Whatever drinks you think you need.

We normally raid the fridge and take all open boxes for cereals/open jam jars etc with us. If we need more we just buy them and take them back home with us.

We shop on the way to whereever we go and then buy what's needed during the stay. I don't like making big meal plans as often we swap around plans depending on weather, mood and what we find on location.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 20/07/2022 07:24

Don't forget some plastic boxes and ice packs if you're planning on picnic lunches!

Yeah I think I'll take some bits and do a click and collect for the other bits. Washing up liquid, oil etc I'll take.

Didn't know that frozen pastries were a thing. Can I get them in most supermarkets?

pack a tea towel or two too and a sharp kitchen knife!

Booked · 20/07/2022 16:55

Cling film
Ice pops

Geneticsbunny · 20/07/2022 17:02

I would order a gousto box to your house and take that. That will cover you for 4 main meals with everything included and then you can just order drinks, snacks and breakfast stuff to the holiday cottage.

sparkypupp · 20/07/2022 18:19

Yes they're great! I get them from Tesco or Aldi - stick them in the oven and warm fresh pastries 😋
