Buggies

Hi there,

I have read about a new lightweight buggy that has been designed especially to store as hand luggage on a flight.

Does anyone know what it's called?

Also, any tips on flying long haul with a 14 month old very energetic little boy?

Many thanks.

A Quinney Zapp was billed as being small enough to take as hand luggage, but they seem quite heavy to me, i think mothercare do one which looks a bit like a micralite.

take a mary poppins bag of tricks. inc loads of stickers and a roll of sellotape. roll of sellotape keeps em entertained for ages.

take foods you know theyll eat too. bikkies and the like.

theres a good website called travelling with kids or something... lots of tips on there.

thanks Nappies galore, I will definitely try the sellotape trick, I think he will love that. What a great idea. Stickers are a good idea too, he can stick them all over the plan hee hee!

I will definitely have a look at the website.

If all else fails he can eat his way to the States!

nappies etc and 1 change of clothes each. choose clothes that fold up as small as poss to save room for more distraction toys etc. you will need a change in case of spillages, leakages or sudden puking. (i speak from experience here ).

favourite books (one or two)

yes, stickers can go all over the seat in front. hehe.

aquadraw mini set lets em do 'colouring' with no mess potential.

take a muslin and keep it handy for multiple uses.

keep your hand luggage on the floor in front of you so you can reach it all quickly. and only use each trick as and when needed, keeping stuff back for unforseen disasters.

will post more as i think of them.

oh, i heard that if you wrap each thing in the bag o tricks, it slows em down and gives them something else to do... it didnt work fantastically for us, but having a couple of things to unwrap is a good idea.

matchbox cars theyve never seen before tended to please my lot for a fair while (they come in packs of 5 which you open in advance to save space)

tesco, the big stores, have loads of crafty stuff and toys for v cheap for all this. like pipe cleaners etc. balloons. that sort of thing.

is basically a xmas stocking you make last the whole flight.
