We took a small amount of Krona (for coffees etc) and cards for everything else.

It's a VERY expensive country, but fascinating. I recommend hot springs and whale watching trips.

I haven't ordered any because the bunf I've read says cards for everything. Is that not correct?

Tiggertum · 18/07/2022 11:05

Thanks 2bazookas.

@50mg - this is sort of what I’m wondering, is it worth ordering any at all.

Can you not withdraw a small amount from an ATM over there if needed?

fizzywat · 18/07/2022 11:19

Also, if you travel a bit and don't have one already, open a Revolut account as a travel only stash! I have one and it really is so easy to use. It automatically converts to the local currency at the best available rate.

Went earlier this year and didn't use cash at all.

Tiggertum · 18/07/2022 12:35

Thanks all - won’t bother!

Went earlier this year and didn't use cash at all.

Same didn’t need cash at all for food/drinks/shopping. But we did use some for giving to guides for the day trips we did.

Was there sept 21, paid by credit card for everything.

Puffinshop · 22/07/2022 18:52

No, it's pretty much cashless.

Obsidianrocks · 22/07/2022 20:09

We’re here now! Not needed cash yet and we’ve been here a week.
