Before I book, I’m having a panic about covid vax proof to enter Spain.

Is it the NHS QR code pass we need on the phones? Or something else?

DH & I are triple vaxxed, my 3 DS ages 12-16 have had 2 doses and I don’t need to show anything for my 5 year old….is that right?

Thank you!

When we went at Easter, we had this.

Yes, the NHS QR code is enough.
they just scan it before passport control.
11 and under don’t need to show anything.

We went to Spain recently and nobody scanned anything. Went through passport control and they had a member of staff near the exit who barely glanced at our phones as we walked by, could have been showing them a qr code for anything!

Was in Spain last week. They definitely were looking at our QR codes.

The NHS travel pass is what you need.

You can generate the qr code for travel online or in the NHS app

Would people please stop posting irrelevant information. Easter was 3 months ago. There have been two major rule overhauls since.

You don’t need this form anymore OP, as you’re all fully vaccinated or under 12. NHS QR codes will suffice. Enjoy your trip!

Hi we just arrived in Spain last week and the airport were very strict about our Covid status.

We are in Scotland so both my husband and I had the NHS app showing all our Covid vaccines (oldest must be with 270 days) and for my 15 year old I phoned the Covid vaccine help line who sent a letter out confirming there Covid vaccines.

All were accepted ok.

As pp have said, the NHS travel QR code is fine.

There seems to be a different level of checking varying by airport - in some it's a random sample, in others it's every single person.

BunsyGirl · 15/07/2022 07:43

@Laliga518 my understanding was that the oldest has to be within 270 days if you have not had the booster but if you’ve had a booster there is no expiry in that at the moment. This it what it says on the U.K. Gov site:

If you have received a booster, you are considered fully vaccinated for entry into Spain. As soon as you receive your booster, you are considered fully vaccinated with immediate effect. There is currently no expiry date for booster jabs.

If you are aged 18 or over and have not received a booster, but have received two doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine approved for use by Spain, then at least 14 days and no more than 270 days must have passed since your last dose, to qualify as fully vaccinated.

Worrying if Spain are actually saying it’s 270 days with a booster. I have to travel to Spain for work later this year and it will be outside of 270 days of my booster. I’m not entitled to another booster at the moment!

Summerof22 · 15/07/2022 08:39

I think the 270 day rule applies only if you’ve not had the booster.
below from the uk government website

If you are aged 18 or over and have not received a booster, but have received two doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine approved for use by Spain, then at least 14 days and no more than 270 days must have passed since your last dose, to qualify as fully vaccinated.

If you are aged 12 to 17 and have not received the booster, but have received two doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine approved for use by Spain, then at least 14 days must have passed since your last dose, to qualify as fully vaccinated. You continue to qualify as fully vaccinated more than 270 days after your last dose and do not need to show proof of having received a booster to travel.

Sorry, left this out

Neither of my children have been vaccinated but they can show a negative LFT test. Does anyone know if I have to do a video one or will a postal one be fine, its difficult to find this level of info!
