Any ideas of games, craft things etc I can take to to keep a 7 year old (girl) and 10 year old (boy) occupied for those afternoons when we want to chill during a holiday ?

We took a 3-D puzzle recently for our 10yo boy. Kept him quiet for a while! It needed focus.

Declutter their bedrooms 😉 sounds silly but recently I spent an afternoon with wach DC going through literally everything they own and they were very happy with the resulting extra space they had.

Bonus - they "rediscovered " some toys so spent hours playing with them

DC had to do a holiday diary. Write about what we had done that day, draw a picture or stick in a postcard. Made them calm down and kept them busy.
Games - dominoes, snakes and ladders. Our favourite is Labyrinth which really can be enjoyed by all the family.
A jigsaw that everyone can do.
Even when at home we had a reading half hour. Children coming to our house on play dates were told to bring a book. You could all sit together and quietly read.

Set them a project. Make a poster or small document about a topic they like.

DD did one about chocolate one year, researched her favourite authors, did one about the holiday destination we went end of August.

It teaches research methods, reading, writing and DD found a lot of really obscure facts.
