Family Holiday in France

I'd like to book a holiday in France next year and I'm looking for recommendations please. My kids will be 11 and 13. Ideally I'd like some place close enough to an airport as we plan to fly. I've been looking online and Domaine Des Ormes in Brittany looks good - so something along those lines if possible. Thanks so much!

I'd fly further down France, maybe La Rochelle. There are direct flights from Birmingham or Manchester.

Depends how far you want to drive and which port you arrive at. We're driving from Calais to the Pyrenees this year, which is a long way, but we do a similar long journey every summer. If you want better weather, would suggest going south of the Loire.

Do you want beaches, mountains, countryside, close to a town? Would suggest looking at Yelloh Village website for some ideas in terms of location and what facilities you want and then check weather and reviews. Sandaya also does campsites with loads of facilities although the one we went to was very Brit-oriented (and quite remote). Would avoid Capfun, we found them very formulaic and too busy/loud.

Doh! Sorry, missed the bit about flying!!

We love Royan, which is a gem of a beach resort about an hour from La Rochelle (we hired local taxis for the transfer last time we went). My personal issue with Brittany is that the weather is less reliable.

You could look on the Eurocamp website for ideas of which areas are near airports, and either find a campsite through them or find another one in the area you like. Eurocamp car-free ideas

La Sirene near Perpignan

Thanks for the replies. I've since ruled out Les Ormes because it seems very far north and the weather could be an issue. I'm now looking at le Clarys Plage, Sequoia Parc or Le Vieux Port. They all seem to have what we are looking for - good pools with slides, close to a beach, activities for kids. I just need to narrow it down to one now! Have any of you any experience with any of these sites? Thanks!
( sorry I have started another thread on this topic as well. I had forgotten that I had started it until I did a search and my own post came up)
