Me and my DP are due to travel to Torremolinos in 8 weeks. By then my daughter will be coming up for 6 months. We're travelling from Scotland. Both are double vaccinated and bolstered.

What are your must have items when travelling with a baby?

What are your must have items when travelling with a baby on a flight?

I also believe we do not require any documents to travel? Just proof of vaccination?

If anyone has also been to Torremolinos, is there anything specific you would recommend doing? Restaurants, beaches, tourist attractions etc?

Thanks in advance 🥰

Boobs and a sling was most of my list, tbh. Sling or carrier makes airports and planes much easier.

You do need passports for all of you though, if that's what you mean by "documentation".

Sorry I should have been more clear regarding documents. I don't need to fill any documents out for entry into the country do I? I haven't travelled at all during Covid so I have no idea and reading up on it can be so complex. We all have passports which are fully in date! X

The best place to heck for documentation would be gov.uk for the country you are travelling to.

Toy wise the best value is stacking cups from IKEA. Cost was under £1 when I bought them. They can be played with as intended, used as bath toys, beach toys, used as snack holder etc and take up hardly any room. Mine are still going strong 15 years later.

A pound shop paddling pool with a towel on the bottom and toys in can be a safe place for baby to sit.

Id try to avoid weaning until you’re back.

Take swimming nappies as they can be expensive. You can wash out wet ones and reuse a couple of times. Be aware they only hold solid waste, not fluids so change baby into a normal nappy when not in the water.

Thank you so much. This is all great. I've had a few people advise not weaning until we're back. Is there any specific reason as to why? Just incase she take a funny turn with the food abroad?

At 6 months all mine needed were a passport, carrier or buggy (or both) and me because they were breastfed, dd1 was on food so I fed her food you mixed up with water (don't think it's available now) or normal adult food mushed up with a fork/shredded. Dd2 wasn't on solids due to her own preference, she was over 7 months before she would eat food. Mine coslept. Obviously swim nappy and clothes but you can buy nappies there, I used cloth nappies so I took a thick plastic bag and also cloth wipes

No, it's just a lot less hassle. The food in Torremolinos is going to be basically identical to the food in the UK. There's no point stressing yourself out messing around with feeding a baby solids when you can just keep them on milk another few weeks and start when you get back.

Clip on fan for pram
basic medicine kit- calpol, nurofen and a thermometer. We went away and my baby has a temp of 40. Was covid but we didn't know that at the time.
blow up bath to wash little one if hotel only has a shower.
reusable swim nappies(saves weight and space)

@nbrown2022x ohh also the sun shade from Aldi. We took a silver cross zest pram and although it has an extendable hood it was rubbish at keeping the sun of his legs. The sunshade came in really handy as ment he could still see out and you weren't faffing trying to move an umbrella ect

I agree it’s the hassle, there is no need to complicate things, babies get their calories from milk for the first year, wean when you are back home.
